We get there and for once we get seated right away. We'll that was it. Because our server came took our drink orders came brought them took our food order and that was it took an hour and a half atleast to get our food. We were told a couple times I see yalls food in the window. Well I believe her that she saw it in the window because finally a manager came said they were waiting on the chicken fried chicken. Idk about yall but boneless chicken meat does not take almost 2 hours to cook. Js. So remember she could see our food in the window. Well finally the food comes out I'm missing one of my sides my grandson was missing his sausage patties from the biscuit breakfast plate and the sausage I ordered from the confetti pan cakes. And our food that she could see was cold the mashed potatoes had already formed a thick coating from setting under the light my grandson was like whats this on my grits mawmaw Well baby that's the think coat that forms on top of your grits when they cold. I literally showed them that I could put my finger in the grits they were so cold. But hey yall that chicken fried chicken was hot. And oh let's get back to the breakfast plates that came with sausage or didnt come with sausage. So now we are all eating and we're able to finish our meal before he got his sausage patties. We all know we get lucky when they have 2 cooks most of the time we are told they only have one cook that's what takes so long. But no as I spoke with the manager I find out that starting off she said there were 2 cooks and she was back there cooking then before it was over Mike another manager ended up being back there also so I'm like let me get this straight not only do you have 2 cooks but also 2 managers cooking back there and yall can't get food out? Mind yall I forgot to tell yall we got there at 420 to 430 so not a lot of people at all there maybe 6 tables 7 tables. But also it was good to know they prom couple that came in a while after we did got their fried chicken or fried steak not sure but it was definitely fried got thier food was able to eat and leave before we got out food. That was so nice of them to get them out so fast. Cracker barrel yall have gotten worse it's always slow but this was sad. Oh I should say our waitress was good she was not slow. I did feel bad for her because when your kitchen takes thier time getting food out she doesn't flip many tables. Our table was hung up 2 hours. Waiting when she really should have been able to flip that table at the least twice. Maybe 3 times. So that hurts yalls workers also. So we had no problem with...
Read moreI came in after an extremely long day looking forward to eating a good hot meal on my way back home 3 hours North... I arrived at the restaurant at 4:30 sat in the parking lot talking on the phone then came in the building somewhere around 4:45. Instantly was sat down by a very nice hostess. This was before 5:00 p.m. and the rush had not hit yet. I started my timer then read three articles on my phone after I put down my menu. Two different girl waitresses walk past me three times and a young man walked past me twice and help the lady directly in front of me four times and never acknowledged that I hadn't even had a drink order yet. I actually made eye contact with three different persons who is wait staff. Finally after almost 10 minutes of not one person acknowledging my presence I decided to leave as there is no way I would have food in a timely manner. A very simple I'll be right with you which acknowledges my existence would have had me wait about 5 more minutes to get my drink order. I am a traveler as you can see on my reviews and very seldom do I ever give a really bad review. Has a business owner who has to travel for a living coming into a restaurant is an absolute choice that I make in my route. I drove by hundreds of restaurants in Alexandria but chose to stop at the easy on/off location on i-49 that I am familiar with. Now driving north there is not another good sit-down restaurant until Natchitoches and of course after 5:00 p.m. all of those are long waits so it will have to be fast food and a long drive toward Texarkana. I will not choose this cracker barrel on a route any longer. This past week has been over 70 hours working and over the past month have eaten at a cracker barrel three times somewhere around Texas. Cracker barrel is usually a mainstay for me on the road has the staff is usually fast friendly and courteous with quality food that is the same anywhere I go. I understand short-staffed and have altered my wait time everywhere I go because I understand that most places are very short-handed, but as a traveling businessman I do not accept not acknowledging a customer... Sorry Alexandria cracker barrel I will skip your location.,..... And make sure I eat in Alexandria before the long...
Read moreI happen to absolutely LOVE Cracker Barrel! However, this one was not the best experience. We signed in and waited about 30 minutes to be seated. Once we were seated the waitress said she would be with us in a minute. About 13 minutes later she came back to the table to get our drink order. She stated that her name is Deborah and that she would be taking care of us. We ordered a kids grilled cheese sandwich with a Sprite, Chicken and Dumplings with two sides of fried okra and a coke, three pancakes with a Dr.Pepper, and last but not least we ordered a side salad for a small child with a small sweet tea. Deborah informed us that they could not make a small side salad for our small child. I stated that she could in fact put salad in a small bowl for him. We also asked for corn bread and biscuits before the meal. She left and 5 minutes later and man shows up. Apparently he is a manager. He states that they won’t make a small salad. I asked if it was because of the price and he said yes. I told him I don’t care if you charge us for a side salad, I just want you to make it small so that he starts his salad and finishes it. The man agrees to make a small salad. About 15 minutes later we asked a lady that was standing by the door if she could help encourage the waitress to bring us our drinks. They finally came but were flat. We had her come back to the table and explained that they were flat and could they adjust their carbonation and bring out new ones. Let’s just say at this point they had an attitude. It was as if they were being inconvenienced. The food had not arrived, the corn bread and biscuits were not there. Finally the food came out. Well everything except the okra and the cornbread and biscuits. I asked the “manager” for the bread AGAIN and stated that Deborah needed to be replaced with someone that could pay attention to the table. FINALLY, the bread and drinks were on the table. The sodas were still flat. How incredibly frustrating for us. Service was terrible. The...
