I want to start off by saying I’ve had a handful of positive experiences with this diner before- food wise and with customer service. I tried finding an email to not make this public but could not find one. I am only writing this review as it is important for people with food allergies.

I am dairy-free. I came to the diner a couple weeks ago and ordered the quinoa bowl, asking and making sure it was dairy-free. They assured me it was. Did not have any issues that visit. I felt very comfortable that they took my food allergies seriously, and suggested to my husband that we get dinner there tonight. It has been extremely difficult finding places to eat where I feel comfortable.

Tonight, I placed an order over the phone. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger for my husband with disco fries, and the same quinoa bowl for myself that I got a couple weeks ago. I explained my food allergy again, double-checking that the quinoa bowl was dairy-free. She assured me she would mention it to the chef.

My husband got there to pick it up. She rang up the cheeseburger and disco fries only. My husband said there should also be a quinoa bowl, and that I mentioned it needs to be dairy-free. She said that she thought that was for the bacon cheeseburger and disco fries. Meanwhile, both of those are loaded with cheese. It took 10-15 mins but they made the quinoa bowl and we left.

My concern is that she explained that she thought I needed the cheeseburger and disco fries dairy-free, which were both loaded with cheese.

Working in the food industry, I am hoping the staff in the future will have a deeper understanding of food allergies, as sometimes they are quite severe and sometimes life-threatening. This is not the case for me, but am hoping that can be a reminder that is made a priority for staff for patrons with...

Firstly, you won't find this gem by seeing it while driving on I-80. It is slightly off exit 19 and is located about 5 minutes from the exit, if that. But, once you get to the Allamuchy Diner you are well on the way to truly a wonderful culinary experience. I give this place a true rating of 5 stars. Everything was perfect. My breakfast included an omelet (a western omelet with the addition of chorizo sausage) was stunningly delicious and it was a perfect 10. The hash browns were hot and crispy, as they should be. They were appropriately seasoned and not too dry tasting or too greasy. The coffee was hot, and fresh, and delicious. Our waitress, Alex, was always attentive to our needs. The decor is welcoming and has country charm and appeal. The place is spotlessly clean. (Another star earned for that). The bathroom is super cool. It is an old fashioned kind with a pull chain. (Another star here). When was the last time you saw that? The seating is not large. It consists of a limited number of tables and chairs plus it a counter with seats. It can feel cramped inside if the place is full. But, don't let that stop you. The food is too good to pass by. Their parking lot is small. However, there is also plenty of adjacent free street parking available. So, no one is left without a parking spot. For me the Allamuchy Diner easily is, on an overall...

Absolutely phenomenal. Cliff notes... Food is amazing, staff is friendly and atmosphere is superb. 100% go.

Long version- Stopped in since visiting family for the holidays.. all I can say is WOW. This place is truly phenomenal is every sense of the word. When you walk in your greeted well, the atmosphere is rustic, homey and cozy. Truly warm and inviting. Even the smells hit you pleasantly from the fresh made food.

We were in for lunch and I got the chicken Parm panini. It was absolutely done well and with care. The sauce was perfectly mild. Cheese melted just right and the chicken breaded perfectly and cut to the right thickness.

Our waiter was very kind and had a great attitude. The entire menu looks phenomenal. I can't say enough. All of the reads are made in house it seems and with great care. They were taking out fresh trays of bread while we were there. They knew all the ingredients in the bread since they made it themselves.

This place is an absolute gem and is run exactly how I would do a small diner. Bravo to the owners and staff on a job well done. I will definitely be by again before we head...

All-day breakfast menu features a Pancakes Deluxe dish that requires more than one plate per order, the portions are that generous. Vibe is chill and charming. Classic rock and 80s pop plays in the background, as diners are surrounded by framed photographs of local sights through past decades alongside shelves displaying relics of a bygone time. A worthwhile stop to return to.
