I found out about this place from a recent radio promotion. Until then I had never heard of them…..at least in this location. Though I do recall years ago somebody talking about a Steve-O’s in Tyrone. I never got the chance to visit the Tyrone location. But after hearing the radio promo I decided to go out of my way to find the Duncansville place. I called in an order, which the gracious employee took down. And when I arrived I took some photos, picked up my order and was off. But I didn't make it a 1/4 mile in my car before taking out a slice and horking it down. Shortly after, while still driving, I ate 2 more slices covering the entire spectrum of corner cut, edge cut and center cut. Everything was good and satisfying. The cheese was good and the dough and crust were good. And when I took the time to consider it, I realized that Steve -O’s genuinely offered the intangible experience and feel of the long lost late 1970’s to 1980’s square cut take out pizza. Now Al’s Pizza has long since been gone from Altoona. Pal-Mino’s is now also gone. But Steve-O’s has the ability to make you feel like you are temporarily stepping back in time to a better place.

Sad to say, but I wish I had a video and not just food photos of my experience on 2/25/2023. I've been going to this establishment for well over 25 years and dealing with the same fella for that same period of time. I ordered the pictured food and asked about pizza. We were told " no pizza for at least 45 minutes". We sat down and other patrons came in to order food or pick up their orders. Several people left without food or their orders. He then said " it ain't my business I made my money today, I could have closed the doors at 6 pm and gone home and put my feet up and call it good". He then was throwing pizza trays under the table where they cut the pizza. Probably won't ever return. There are lots of pizza places to spend my money at. It only takes one person to ruin a good business. What a shame.

The pizza is as simple as it gets, but it is convenient and affordable. With a car full of kids, each want a different topping, the fact that this place sells pizza by the slice is nice
