Last winter, we supported this joint despite the challenging weather and slow business they were facing. We sympathized with their situation. However, our recent experiences have been disappointing. During four out of our last five visits, we encountered subpar service. A common thread in these instances was the presence of the business owner. Today was the final straw for me. I tried to kindly point out an error in the pricing displayed on the screen menu for an item they charged, but instead of acknowledging the mistake and rectifying it, the owner responded in a rude and unpleasant manner. She insisted that her "register" was showing the correct price, disregarding the fact that the price on the menu was significantly lower. We stopped after swimming and were hungry. We were anxious to try out this new place. Although the chicken quesadilla was good, the chicken dinners were not. The chicken was dry and tough, and didn't seem fresh. The oriental salad had an "off" taste so it went into the trash can. The biscuits were dry as well. The "baked beans" appeared to be straight out of a can. The younger counter staff were friendly as well as the owner, however the woman who handed us our food had zero personality, didn't smile and didn't seem to want to be there. The gift shop was nice to look through. It is advertised as dine-in but there are no seats to dine in. The round picnic tables outside are very shaky to sit at. Sundae in the Park is a true gem in Mohawk, Michigan! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warmth and hospitality. The food? The espresso drinks are hands down the best in the area, and the vibe is exactly what you'd hope for in a cozy local spot. The owner and staff go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. You can tell they care about what they do, and it shows in every detail.
