Woody's — Restaurant in Alturas

Awesome food! As with everything in this area, not just cedarville, everything and everywhere is completely desolate. You can literally park anywhere, probably in the middle of the highway, and it wouldn't be a problem. I called the owner or manager of this place, having never been to this area at all, after a place in altruist couldn't so much as make as a grilled cheese for me. They had a very very minimal menu, the place in Alturas, but I've never ever experienced in my 40 plus years, any American restaurant that had all the ingredients come up but refused to make a grilled cheese. Since I had already ordered from that place for sob, I needed a place where I could eat food, and we were going to Cedarville anyhow, so I called Woody's when we were in town for a pre-order and it was ready when we showed up 15 minutes later The food was really really good! Been to woody's twice now, both times it was horrible. Burger was good, fries were heavily burned. The guy who took my order (Cory I believe) was very rude and disrespectful to me and other customers. My co-worker was having a nice conversation with another random person, Cory overheard them and immediately blew his top off. He obviously didn't agree with the conversation that wasn't even about him in the slightest. It obviously made the atmosphere very awful. At least the poor asian lady all by herself trying to run the kitchen was trying her best, even with Cory yelling at her too. I gave them a second chance, won't be giving them a third. Great and ample selection of beer in the glass. Come spend some time in a slower and quieter pace of life. Watch some TV while at the bar or play some pool. On cooler nights enjoy the warmth from the corner wood stove fireplace. Look at the pictures on the wall from past rodeos or events or put your dollar up on the ceiling.

The bar-side of the establishment is small enough that if a smidge tipsy.... you can just walk the couple paces to tip-into your vehicle and drive soberly home.

Bar staff is great with engaging banter. Bathroom is clean and roomy... just watch the slope in the floor.
