Stopped by for lunch and shade on a cycling tour in summer. As soon as I came in I was seated with the traditional jar of salsa, corn chips and a sauce plate. Iced water came shortly after I asked. Hugo gave me a couple of minutes to look through the menu and make a decision. He was very attentive and noticed as soon as I put down menu for ordering. The chimichanga I ordered was delicious, only thing I'd complain about is the guacamole. However much there is in any dish is never enough, in my opinion. Flan was nothing spectacular. Still delicious. Should've gone for fried ice cream tho. Location is very accessible right off the highway and windows are tinted for sunlight control. They had traditional northwestern Mexico music playing at a reasonable volume. Make sure you get some candy at the register, they're worth it! Overall: good portions, fair price, nice atmosphere, timely service.

I ordered the molcajete guanajuato and It blew my mind!!! Real savory and full of juices! Not to mention that the staff were akin to like your own personal waiter, it's like they read my mind! Totally awesome and I would recommend anyone to stop on by if you're ever in the area. (Also the town is gorgeous!)

Came out this way to see SALT PLAINS STATE PARK. We drove out to Alva for food & quick shopping. Tamales & sopapilla were good. No hair issue with food(per other review]. Food was after I started digging into it.

Friendly service, willing to work with you. Food tastes and smells great, music and TVs for entertainment.

Update March 2020: Party of three, only one of us got exactly what we ordered. Guest's was cold, and returned it to him nuked (fresh cheese melted) with extra sauce. I asked for a couple items off, and got what's listed on the menu, because they didn't hear me. Next time I'll ask for the order to be repeated back; didn't because they were busy, and didn't learn from times before...

Depending on who takes your order, you may have to speak clearly while pointing at what you want, and not abbreviated, then have them repeat what you ordered, and hope everything is clear. Yet I still seem to have my order done wrong. Ex: If you ask for no tomatoes, and specifically state you still want ketchup in/on the order, as it normally does, chances are you'll not have ketchup as well. Sure I can add it on top, but when it's meant to be cooked inside, it kinda defeats the purpose. If you ask to keep something off the plate, such as guacamole, you can see it was added, then removed and covered by other food.

These happen about 2/3 of the time I visit. I've lost interest to visit anymore. Yet, the options in town, eventually give in and try again.

My wife used to visit weekly.

Dec 2019: Wife likes to visit before work, and arrives well ahead to give time during rushes. However she came through, was seated, served chips, and never was spoke to again. Hour later, she walked out to grab a quick bite before work. Waitress looked her way while she was seated, but never came by again. Normally when this happens to us, someone comes by and asks if our order had been taken, if all is well, or we walk up to ask for a waiter/waitress. Not sure why my wife had trouble grabbing someone's attention to take her...
