Cancun Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Alva

We were seated immediately with delicious chips and salsa! My sister ordered the spinach queso and steak burrito. The steak burrito was delicious and recommended! The burrito was HUGE, enough for 2-3 people. I ordered the combination of enchilada, taco and chile relleno. The chile relleno was very good and I also recommend it. However the enchilada and taco, I wished I had returned. The meat seemed like part hamburger meat and something else. No cheese no onions but ONLY plain meat mixture in the enchilada. The taco had ONLY the meat mixture with no cheese no onions but only lettuce. The waiter took our order but after several minutes, we didn’t receive our appetizer. It finally came late, after our main entree was served. On my order of the enchilada and taco, I was expecting cheese. He asked me if I wanted cheese sauce. I said yes. He knew it was our first time. The people who were seated after us, received their food long before ours came. We still had not received our spinach appetizer. I also wanted to order some queso with our chips. Our waiter never returned, so we asked another waiter, who then brought queso, more chips and salsa, but still no spinach queso.

When we received our bill, we were charged MORE DOLLARS than what price was on the menu for every item we ordered. We were upset that we were charged $1.25 for the cheese sauce! The steak burrito was $4.00 more. The spinach queso was a $1.00 more. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND...

I do not recommend this restaurant. The food was terrible. Our server got drinks and order wrong. Got two plates had to wait ten minutes for a third meal and get the order corrected to get the fourth meal 20 minutes later. Never asked do you want a box for the half eaten meal or refills for our drinks. After asking for the ticket, he proceeded to wait on other tables and only brought the ticket while at the counter waiting for a manager despite walking by repeatedly after ticket was requested. While explaining to the manager said waiter kept walking by. Managers solution was taking ten percent off of a tab of over sixty dollars. So essentially the discount was what the taxes added up to. Then when that was questioned, he seemed insulted. Well, I had felt insulted the entire time. I will not be eating at this...

We were out of town and since many local restaurants were closed, we decided to come here for dinner. The restaurant has an open feel about it and so, even when they are busy, it did not feel crowded.

It took longer than expected for the wait staff to greet and sit us but once we were in place, we got our order in promptly.

We were surprised that having queso with chips and salsa is an extra charge as most Mexican restaurants provide that as part of the appetizer. Nevertheless, the salsa was flavorful and packs a good kick.

Our burrito and quesadilla were flavorful and reasonably priced (under $10 per entre) for a generous portion. There wasn't enough cheese in the quesadilla and the fillings were falling out that I had to roll/fold it up like I would a...
