Bean Pot & BBQ — Restaurant in Amarillo

This was first time visiting this establishment and I have to say that it was very good! Now I understand that everyone's taste is different and being that I smoke food all year long mine are as well, that being said The place itself was clean, calm atmosphere The staff themselves were extremely friendly, very grateful that you were supporting that business 👏, and the prices are very reasonable, wont break the bank! Now my party got a extreme frito pie, you get alot on it, pretty tasty, a sliced brisket sandwich which was also tasty, and I got a 2 meat sandwich, I chose to get sausage and chopped brisket, I didn't think I was hungry having eaten only 3 hrs earlier but I was last to start eating but finished 5 minutes before the others! I gobbled that sandwich down, not even a thought of taking pics of our food lol, so it was very good, nice sized generous amount of meat. Now I prefer my meats to have a stronger smoke flavor than others, so to me it wasn't or didn't have a strong smoke flavor but this is just my own personal preference, but it doesn't mean that it wasn't good, but I do have family that prefer just a hint or just enough smoke, so they may cater more to those on the lighter side, but either way I believe you'll enjoy the food, wanted to try ribs but were sold out!! I stumbled on this and boy oh boy was I glad. The chopped beef sandwich was great because the barbeque master making the meat knows what he is doing. Well I dunno if he is a bbq master but he should be.

My travelling partner had the baked potato. Wow it looked delicious. I tried the baked potato loaded with brisket, chili, and cheese and tank about wow factor.

The atmosphere is very country atmosphere and that means comfortable and down home style.

The place is clean. Eating areas, bathrooms, etc...

Ordering was easy. As traveler I like it when the order tracker makes a suggestion whether it be a special or local favorite... this happened.

This 5 star rating is based solely on the value of the food. Atmosphere gets 3 stars. The BBQ was very good itself. The sliced beef was tender, plenty of flavor, and a decent portion even as I ordered the small plate ($5.75). The combination of those things alone allowed me to rate this BBQ with such a rating to encourage that you try it. The lot doesn't look like something you'd have to pay much to rent, the barber next door is open wed-sat only.
