The food was exquisite. I hail from California where food Mexican food is very competitive but this place could give the good majority a run for their money. My husband and I were greeted with a smile and directed to seat wherever we like. There were a few tables but they all had their food so it wasn't really busy. It took the staff nearly ten minutes to show up to the table just to give us menus. Not even two whole minutes after one member gave us menus did our server approach to take our orders. We had virtually no time to take a look at the menu so she gave us time to look. She returned not even five mins after for our order. I felt rushed but I think I chose well. The birria was delicious. Once the food was brought over, no one returned to ask for refills, ask if we needed a high chair, any dessert or even to give us the bill. There is no sign indicating to go up front to pay and considering this was our first visit we had no way of knowing. We sat there with all our plates already finished and waiting to see if they would at least give us the bill to no avail(about 25mins). By this time the restaurant was beginning to pick up and suddenly there were about four servers when just an hour before there was one cashier and seemingly two servers but they stayed hidden until new patrons showed up. My husband went to the register to pay. The girl knew our order(but didn't remember to check on us OR their other tables from my observation). The place isn't big and they had several parties waiting to be seated(or acknowledged) while empty tables were being ignored. Perhaps one or two bussers to assist them would be good and possibly more training for serving. Bottom line: Great food but unless you are okay with slow or forgotten service then I will be ordering...
Read moreDriving through Amarillo and decided to try this place for Cinco de Mayo. So we ordered the house margaritas which were on the rocks (if you want frozen they make them in a blender) and they weren’t that great. However they had a very good selection of Mexican beers, Pacifico is not very popular on draft but they had it. It definitely hit the spot. We ordered several plates, but what stood out were the beef enchiladas I ordered. They weren’t the normal TexMex style smothered in sauce. They had a slight amount of red sauce with some white queso fresco sprinkle on top. The surprise was the meat filling, it wasn’t the traditional ground beef, more of a beef stew meat (similar to carné guisada but not drenched in sauce). The flavor of the meat was great. I’d have to say it was probably one of the best enchiladas I’ve had. Different style but super tasty. Service was ok, probably could have been better, but it’s fine. Oh and check Yelp for a $20 for $10 deal. Would definitely come again if...
Read moreDefinitely a local watering hole with amazing food and friendly service! It was buy even at 3 pm, and I imagine it would be busier during regular meal hours. Service is quick (took about 10 min for our three plates to come out), and they give you complimentary chips, salsa, and beans to eat while you wait for your food.
Vegetarian tacos: Awesome use of seasoning on the vegetables and a perfect amount of grilling on them as well. Mexican rice and beans were fantastic.
Fish tacos: Very tender and moist and flavorful fish meat with perfect tortillas. The rice was very rich and buttery...it was a white rice and didn’t look/taste like the typical reddish Mexican rice, but still good! Pairs very well with the Chile de arbol salsa.
Beef birriria tacos: Delicious shredded beef with perfect tortillas that can bee dipped in a beef stew to make it even juicier! 10/10...
