Iron Skillet — Restaurant in Amarillo

I don't like leaving these reviews....but hopefully this will save someone else wasted time and money. Covid-19 has definitely hurt this restaurant! They only had 2 servers and one manager (Rhonda). Poor Ida's name was called by the cook so many more times than Stephanie's. Had to wait a long time to sit, wait on order to be taken then food to be brought. (We were warned by other truck drivers..I will say...)And when it was brought it was room temperature (except the mac and cheese which was cold)(I ended up leaving over half my chicken fried steak...The salad was good, though!) This is the 2nd time we've tried this place (you know give them the benefit of the doubt) in 2 weeks...and both times, well....sadly I seriously doubt we'll go back...at least for awhile. These servers are seriously overworked and one had to pick up the slack for the other. I wish Corporate desk people would have to walk a mile in their employees shoes....the...

We felt very crowded by the waitress, she was very pushy, and seemed impatient. She also said they don't carry decaf coffee and seemed very confused that we tried to order one, they were out of stock for one of their steaks, they no longer have a salad bar, and the wording on the menu is strange which lead to a misunderstanding with our order and ended in way overcharging.

After we ordered, the waitress and staff stood around at the hot counter gossiping about how much food my family ordered, about how we looked (freshly showered so wet hair), and how we spoke. They talked about how we read the menu wrong because the menu wording is wonky and one person offered to come "talk" to us because she can be "diplomatic". I was extremely upset about the way these people spoke about me and my family as if we weren't sitting right there.

I would never recommend someone to come here and have to listen to the staff talking...

Food was the same as every other iron skillet I've been too, not bad but not great, I did get it much faster than most others however. This particular location however was a bad experience. For starters, both online and in the restaurant itself it says they're open 6am - 11pm which is not true at least when I was there as they closed at 10pm. Also the menu needs to be updated or they need to tell people if something has changed on the menu because I ordered the blackened salmon with rice pilaf plus 2 sides and when I got my meal there was no rice. I asked my server if it came with rice pilaf like it says on the menu and she told me no it doesn't and walked away. So be aware you'll pay full price for a meal but half of it will be missing.The service was also bad maybe it was inexperience maybe not...
