Long Branch Saloon — Restaurant in Amboy Township

We were having guests from out of town for a local event and knew we could count on the Longbranch to do us proud. It was a simple process to make a reservation (not necessary, however, going on a Saturday night, I wanted to ensure no wait as we had after dinner plans) They are fantastic at handling single diners to huge groups with professional ease. The ambiance is classic and rustic. It is always very clean and there is enough room between tables you don't feel crushed. Parking is on-street parking with a city parking lot nearby, so it's convenient. We were seated right away by a very friendly hostess, and our server came over right away to take our drink order. They have a very nice bar with talented bartenders. Some nights they have specialty themed drinks that do not disappoint, on this night there was a nonalcoholic beer and a Moscow Mule ordered and they were both enjoyed, others in the party had water or sodas which were kept full the whole time we were there. Our server was magnificent. We ordered several appetizers, they were all very good with the fried cauliflower being the favorite. Our meals ranged from burgers, pastas and the barbecued ribs all were outstanding they were served hot, fresh and everyone at the table was served at the same time which is nice when you are with a group so the first person's food isn't getting cold waiting for the last person to be served to begin eating. I would like to give a mention to the cucumber salad dressing, it is unique and a very flavorful way to start your meal. We've been going to Longbranch for 5 year's, never had a problem. Took along friends whom had never been there. Worst experience ever took us 20 minutes to get drinks and refills. I ordered a coke after having a margarita. I piled the plastic wraps from the crackers into my empty margarita glass. Waitress rudly spoke and grabbed them out the glass. Then she tossed them onto the table. She then proceeded to tell me that I couldn't do that. The bartender doesn't like that. Took 1 hour before we got our food. And that was after I asked waitress about our food. She was rude and told us the exact time the orders were made. We then received our order instantly after that. I ordered a medium rare cheeseburger with fries. The cheeseburger was totally raw in center and fries barely warm. Everyone's fries were barely warm. I told waitress my cheeseburger was raw. Waitress was rude again! She acted like it was a inconvenience. Everybody else's food was good. I love Longbranch and will go back. I will order my cheeseburger well done. I’ve been all over the world and ran many different types of events. And as pretentious as that may sound, I say all of it because I wanted to say that when something special comes around, it really sticks out. We had my grandma’s celebration of life event at the long branch and we were truly touched and blessed to have the personal and wonderful level of service. Everyone was so kind, helpful and it was something we will treasure forever. We can’t thank them enough for how everything was handled and just how great and delicious the food was as well!
