My partner and I went in for a nice study day. We ordered food and two drinks and it came out sporadically over a period of 30 - 45 mins. The place was not busy. We really didnāt mind cause we were not in a rush. But considering the service we got later I think itās worth mentioning. The two employees working were very nice though. I have nothing bad to say about them other than that the wait time could be better. This will become relevant later but an older women came in who I was assuming was the manager and started helping. The issue came when I ordered an iced drink to go. The guy taking our order didnāt put that info down because it was not on our receipt and Iām guessing he did that cause he was going to make our order and was just going off the top of his head. The lady who manages the store ended up making our order and gave me a hot drink instead of iced. I normally wouldnāt care but Iām paying for a $6 dollar latte I want it how I ordered it. So I politely said, āoh this is iced.ā. The manager then said, āYep, so our standard is if you donāt tell us your drink is iced we will make it hot. So it is your job to inform us. So next time you need to communicate that to us even if it is not expressly asked.ā Now at this point I was done. I did ask for an iced drink and just wanted my stupid iced latte. Instead of letting her know that I just walked out. I frankly believe that response was ridiculous. She didnāt ask me if I ordered it iced, she just assumed I was some jerk who expected the staff to read my mind. Also yes as someone who worked in customer service it is your staffs job to ask the customer for their preferences. A customer should not be expected to fill in gaps for the employee. Not only that she was extremely rude. I donāt need to be talked to like a moron. She could of just apologized and asked if I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLet me describe my experience at Cafe Milo:
Two of us walk in, never having been there before and set our things at a table. We were obviously confused as to whether there was a waitress or not. The girl at the counter was staring at us like idiots, not saying a word, just munching on her carrots with a look of hatred for every minute she had to be at work.
We eventually walked up to the counter, where she was still munching on her carrots, and asked if there was a waitress or if we should order here. She said order there with a mouthful of carrots and blankly continued to stare at us. Looking over the menu seemed like it took an eternity with the constant crunch crunch crunch from her eating her carrots all the while staring at us. I felt like i was intruding on her lunch or something, or like peter rabbit got into a carrot patch, i dont know.
We get our order in after about a bag of carrots, we put money in her tip jar (we both work in the service industry so even terrible service gets some tip). We pay with a credit card and scratch out the tip line. As we turn away i hear "urg NO TIP". I seriously almost lost my mind.
The food was great and the other American Indian looking kid was kind and courteous.
While we were enjoying our food the girl went and sat with her emo/hipster friend and proceeded to chat away as another customer entered and became confused. She then loudly says "Urg SERIOUSLY!!!" and walks to the counter and eats some more carrots while serving this older gentleman. I couldnt stand it anymore and had to leave.
I will never go back! How this girl is even employed at all is beyond me. I hated every minute i was in her presence and she hated every minute i was interrupting her while she WAS AT WORK!!!
Never EVER again! Cafe Milo needs to hire...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI hate to give a local place a low review but it's what I experienced. I was looking forward to going here for a long time! I went in for a Sunday lunch/coffee date. The place was PACKED which is a great sign, but not so great if you're looking to eat more than a muffin. I ordered the honey lavender latte (probably a little too out of the box for me but I thought I would try something new) and I also opted for the caesar salad. My date ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and a strawberry smoothie. Somehow the total ended up being $26!? That's quite a bit for four things even if they come from a cafe. We waited for almost 15 minutes just to get our drinks. The smoothie came in a skinny tall glass that you couldn't get more than 7 drinks out of. My latte didn't taste like honey or lavender? We waited for almost another 10 minutes for someone to bring us our food. I guess I was expecting a little bit more than chicken crumbles on top of a salad of nearly all tomatoes? The buffalo chicken wrap looked like it had been heated up in the microwave. Needless to say, I was bummed! I thought about going back for a different beverage but I'm not sure I'm willing to pay so much again. At least I got some McDonald's nuggets to fill...
