El Mariachi — Restaurant in Amherst

Service was great but food was horrible. I am new to the area and stopped to order food after a long day and it was such a disappointment. Food had no flavor, enchiladas looks like it was tomato sauce based with no spices nor seasoning got a tamarindo drink and was given a jaimaica drink i told the guy and he said it was tamarindo and oh boy this drink was pure water and it was NOT tamarindo. Hamburger deluxe looks like something i can grill in my back yard so small and burned. They had a sign that says to tell them when food is bad the sameday but I live 20 mins away and I was not going to make another trip to get same food with same taste I wasnt going to even write a review but it bugged me so much to pay $91 and change for food that was basically thrown out. I dont mind paying for good quality food but this was nothing of the sort.

I don't know what happened, but the food has really gone down hill starting around Spring of 2023. I just tried it again after not going here for 3 months and it's still bad. It's overly salty, sad dishes with dried-out almost crunchy rice and generally messed up orders (I specifically ask for chicken on two dishes and got beef on both) my wife who is a pescatarian and used to love the vege enchiladas (last two times she got it the only vege were sad canned mushrooms) and the arroz con camaron (this time no sauce). We used to get your food around 2-3 times a month but now we're afraid to try anymore. What happened guys? Service is still great, I hoped it was just that the chief went on a long summer vacation but no, it's still bad. Please make you food better once again, I love having a local Mexican place but I am now forced to go to Charlottesville. We went this restaurant first time and restaurant was almost empty so we select small table in both then they put other counter next to us so we moved to other table because covid 19 we don’t want too close to otros but then wetness come with other 3 people and give them table next to us we told manager if they have almost empty restaurant why they put everybody together Doo we moved again to other table. That time we where not enjoying our visit but after eating we left. Now we went again for lunch in same restaurant and samething happens this time wetness come with other countries and give then table next to us when I told wetness why don’t you give them other table?
