Bill's Hamburgers — Restaurant in Amory

This was my first time going here which was during the Coronavirus pandemic so unfortunately I am unable to give a thorough review of this place as they were only offering call-in orders and curbside orders/pick-ups which is absolutely okay during this time. I have to give them credit for being strong and remaining open as not only a wise business move but also for the service provided to a small community that has limited access to such services. So, as we approached the small patio tables lining the front of their old-fashioned and very quaint establishment located in the historic downtown area, they had clearly written signs with instructions as well as a large bottle of hand sanitizer. As soon as we reached the front door we were greeted by a young friendly waitress. I wasn't sure if I should get the fries or homestyle chips, the name was different than chips but I can't recall it but I opted to go with them for something different and custom to them. I gave a 3 rating because as adorable as the place appeared from the outside and the great service, the food wasn't really good. The "chips" were burnt, hard as a rock, and I didn't like the lack of taste of them. We both ordered the cheeseburger and it wasn't that tasty either. It was old tasting and just lacking in everything. I'm hoping that it was just an off day for them and I would be willing to try again perhaps because I don't like writing bad reviews and the place is just too stinkin cute...

Well obviously 10:30 in the morning is too early to go to Bill's hamburgers if you want a hot cheeseburger. The burger patties were sitting on the grill when we got there, we were the only customers there. The waitress/cook was eating something at the other end of the bar and came and took our order. Fries were hot and delicious (probably could have used a little more salt) but overall they were pretty good. She got the patties off of the grill, put them on a bun, mustard and onions and a piece of cheese and handed them to us. Well of course with the grill being turned off the patties had gotten cold already, it would have taken her a minute on that Grill to heat them up enough to where they would have been hot. That's my only complaint, they were a little bit on the cold side but they were still good as far as Bill's hamburgers go, so do not go there at 10:30 in the morning expecting a hot...

I was expecting this amazing burger I had tasted earlier this year, but I was highly disappointed. I don't know what happen. The burger & fries were not the same. I had the opportunity to go inside the restaurant and was disappointed at the employee sanitation & hygiene. No gloves were worn while preparing the food, the employees would touch several objects & would not wash their hands before touching my food again. It was just an appalling experience. Me & my family where not greeted upon entering the restaurant, and we sat just wondering around until the cook greeted us, but he was so busy he could barely interact with us.

Even though this experience wasn't the best, I'm still hoping that this place makes a turn around because last year when I had them; it was some of the best greasy food I ever had. But for now.. I will not be returning any time soon. It is no longer worth...
