Bamboo Garden Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Anamosa

This is a tough one to rate because if you order off of the menu, their food is quite good, but their buffet leaves a lot to be desired, in my opinion. My wife would give them 4 stars, but I have to be honest in the reviews coming from me. If I were to review solely off of the menu items and not the buffet, they would be closer to 4 stars overall. Some of the items seem like they may have been pre-packaged and not freshly made, but they cooked them well all the same. For the areas in close proximity to Anamosa (Marion, Mount Vernon), they have some of the better Chinese fare going. The staff is always polite and helpful. In no way am I saying you shouldn't try this place because opinions vary and my opinion is just that, 1 opinion. I would say if you aren't expecting the moon, then you will probably like it. Bamboo Garden: A Garden full of bamboo. Boy was I pleasantly surprised when I found out just how wrong I was. You'd think I would have realized how wrong I was when I pulled into the parking lot but, with no sense of smell, I wouldn't have realized it even if I was blindfolded and had a plate of fresh nommy noms shoved in my face. Horrible food for honey chicken which tasted like old chicken argumentative staff saying every excuse possible, charged for food we clearly didn't eat. I have gone here many times have always had a good experience this one was the worst ever and I will never eat here again.
