Beachcomber — Restaurant in Andover Township

Atmosphere is cool for a little spot. The older pretty lady that sat us and got our water was incredible, sweet, and helpful. Our waitress, on the other hand, was the complete opposite. Maybe it was her 1st day, I was not judging, but she couldn't answer any questions, tell us prices on specials or what the soup was. She seemed more concerned with chatting with the other girl. My husband paid the bill, and as we were leaving, I noticed a charge for our skimpy side salads. With our meal, we got 2 sides, and a salad was an option. We asked the waitress, and she had no clue and went to ask her boss. We watched her walk past the nice lady and came back to our table, "My manager is all over the place, and I can't find her to get an answer. I didn't see another button for a side salad, soo it's just how it is!". Then she walked away... wow! $7 some dollars will not break the bank, but her lack of concern and her rudeness was uncalled for. I wish he had not tipped her 20+ % but we always try to be fair. If I had caught this before he paid and her attitude was this way, I definitely would have been so nice...

We stopped last night after not being there for about 2 years. Everything was great. The steak on the stone is to die for. What's unique about it, is that the steak is cooked rare and it comes out sizzling. You then leave it finish to your desired doneness right in front of you. And the boneless wings covered in the sauce that you select are out of this world.

Update ... Outback finally has met it's match with Cheryl's Beachcomber steaks. We were there again last night, March 13th. I had the sirloin that had zero fat and you could cut it with just a fork. It was better than the last time. And our server Smurff really had the hussel on. They were short handed, but she out did herself and was very attentive.

I see comments that the Beachcomber is just a local bar with bar food. Yes it's that way with a relaxed atmosphere. But they really do step it up with...

The lead lady greeted us and was great. But then Waitress wasn't very knowledgeable Im not going to complain too much about that only because it may have been her first day I was not sure But we noticed a $2.60 up charge for each dinner for a (side salad) But when ordering the meals, they included two sides, one of which was a salad (we didn't request a "side salad" just a salad as one of the sides When I questioned Waitress, she said she wasn't sure why but would ask Watched her walk past the lead lady several times Then she came back to the table and said im sorry she is all over the place i can't ask her "So that's just how it is" I just chuckled and said ok Wont go back because of the run around unless they are willing to compensate in some way The food was ok. The steak was good but was also $1 more than posted...
