Although this restaurant opens @ 4:00, the line to get in was longer than the limited available seating. Our party of four arrived @ 3:15 and we're not at the head of the line. Highly recommend getting in line no later than 3:30 PM. Once seated, service was prompt and efficient. Great value for both food and bar. Our party of four had prime rib (2) and two fish (1 Red Snapper & 1 Salmon) plus two rounds of bar drinks for about $200, including tip. Down side - small venue filled with boisterous diners means atmosphere is very noisy. Also, with a line of diners outside still waiting to be seated, we were expected to leave soon after eating. The only way to stay and savor the meal was to continue ordering drinks from the bar. Bar rules: no holding an open seat for late arrival of friends. Bar doesn't allow food service @ the bar. Unless you're in the first seating @ 4, expect to wait an hour, or more, With no reservations, it may be wiser to arrive after 7 PM and hope that the early seating crush has subsided or the bar crowd has thinned out.

Nothing fancy, and you might just drive past it. When you walk in, you are greeted by the bar, which has cheap drinks BTW. The 4 of us were seated very quick for the time of day we went, noon. Not a huge menu, which was also your place mat. About 6 lunch choices, and those could be ordered as sandwiches for a $1 less. 2 of us ordered the grilled chicken breast, 1 rib eye steak and 1 calamari. All came with soup or salad, pasta, veggie and main course, along with bread and butter. All for under $10! The chicken was moist, the steak was perfect, and the calamari was some of the best! The limited menu helps to help prices down, plus I'm sure they own the building. We've been meaning to come here for years, and sorry it's taken so long. We will be back! Next time I'm trying the minestrone soup 😊

My nephew treated us to a meal here. We were a big group (10 people) so we had to wait a bit. We sat at the bar and had a few drinks. The restaurant is known for its cheap drinks (according to my cousins). Anyway we were seated as soon as a big space opened up. The food is plentiful here. You order a main dish (I got the calamari steak) and it is accompanied by soup, salad, sides, bread etc. It's just overwhelming to me. I just ate small portions of the soup and the calamari. The rest of my group dived in and finished everything. They love this restaurant and go as often as possible. It's a very down home place, with friendly staff and big portions. Like a neighborhood joint. Also, they only accept cash. I thought I was the only one who ever carried cash these days!! 🤣🤣

I wish that I could give a better review. Unfortunately, this place was not my favorite. I had vodka & soda water, and my drinks were so strong that it simply was not enjoyable. A heavy pour is not always a good thing. Maybe a 21 year old would want something so strong. However, I like to enjoy my drink while having conversations with friends. Not get drunk. I guess I am more of a conassour type drinker. The food was something of a horror show. Totally inedible. I had the red snapper. There was no flavor / no seasonings that I could tell. It was cooked ok, just bland. The menu claims the vegetables are sautéed, but they were actually super blanched and mushy. I couldn't eat them as it was like eating baby food. I couldn't have the pasta as the sauce had onions in it. But my husband said it was ok, but the noodles we over cooked. He also had the prime rib.. No flavor, just bland the horse radish was so strong everyone at our table jumped upon tasting it. So it was overkill on the flavor. The bread was great. The salad was good. The server was kind and remembered to get mine separated on account of my onion allergy. Our server was pleasant. At the end of our dinner, after paying, we were rushed out by the bar tender asking us to finish our drinks at the bar, which was fine... but he was super assertive about it. No mind, we had just paid close to a $400 tab. We weren't lingering by any means, just getting our to go stuff in order to leave and finish our drinks.

Anyhow. Like I said. We weren't happy with our food. But the atmosphere was nice. The bathroom was clean. So there are...

I took my wife and kid there on the recommendation of multiple coworkers, and it did not disappoint. The highlight of the meal for me was the soup and bread, as many other reviews have said the salad is an afterthought, with just some green lettuce and Italian seasoning with a salami slice on top (I don't get the purpose for that part.)

The serve the minestrone family style, there is no other soup. . .but honestly the minestrone is unique and delicious!!!

The drinks are super affordable and well made. I had a triple whiskey sour my wife had a bud light, we ordered the Salmon the extra cut prime rib and the for the kid a hamburger steak. The sides were the same pasta with "sauteed" mixed green veggies.

To be honest the one criticism I have and the reason for not getting 5 ✨ is that I would prefer them to leave the mixed veggies and pasta off of the plate entirely because they too are clearly an afterthought and not very good, the salad was an afterthought but no bad, we tried a bite of each the pasta and mixed veggies and didn't finish them because they just are not well made, they also make the plates really greasy.

However, the proteins were all perfectly cooked and seasoned, and were absolutely delicious.

This is going to become a regular place for my family as it is right off the freeway on our route home from work, in spite of the bad sides. I just plan on ordering next time without the sides!

Also I would recommend just the soup and bread combo as it is delicious and...

From everybody's Raves and saying how wonderful this place was I was not impressed everybody was saying how everything was homemade and great portions in all of this it's kind of big portions but I was definitely not impressed the soup tasted like it was from a can or like it was made maybe 3 or 4 days ago and it was just very generic the salad was like subpar and Soggy you only have one type of salad dressing not a fan and everything needed some more seasoning or some type of spice or something who is very Bland the atmosphere was pretty awesome I have to say it was packed everybody that I know from out here thinks it's wonderful is not the best prime rib I've ever had is not even a good prime rib at all I make one better at home and yes I agree with the vegetables being hard I didn't have the pasta I think because it tasted mushy subpar but drinks are cheap and it is kind of a cheap place to go so I see why everybody does go there they probably grew up going there but not my favorite not even a place that I would actually go back to twice not to mention everybody pronounces it different so you never know if you're actually going to Maxwell's house or Max old house but to each his own so if you guys all like it congratulations and keep on going but me I will never go back I'd rather make it myself. And for everybody who actually wants a amazing prime rib that would be Lowery's prime rib and I can Vegas and in LA or Robin's house...
