The Meat Slicer Deli — Restaurant in Apache Junction

We showed up in the early afternoon and the place was empty! Thankful wecould get a quick sandwich and be on our way. My buddy and I ordered, and took a seat and I’m assuming the woman that took our order went back to make our sandwiches. About 5 minutes later another person entered and she came up to take his order and then went back to the kitchen. After sitting for about 10 minutes two more guys walked in and ordered. After they ordered they took a seat. My friend and I ordered the slicer works, the next guy ordered and Italian and the two other guys ordered a slicer works and pastrami.

After about 10 more minutes she comes out and gives the two guys their sandwiches and they leave. 5 minutes after that she comes out with the Italian and he leaves. At this point we’ve been sitting for 30 minutes and still no sandwiches. After 10 more minutes we finally get our sandwiches (to go) and we leave…. Well they were the wrong ones… we got the slicer works and pastrami order for the last two guys, assuming she just gave the right sandwiches to the wrong people.

The pastrami sandwich was good and I’m not a pastrami fan. Might be...

Had visited this shop about 3years ago. Took a friend today. First I would like to describe the smell of sewer (?) was overwhelming. Very musty, dank. Need to comment ...The hand sanitizer bottle was filled with alcohol . The cashier was a young lady who was dressed very inappropriately and didn't seem to understand what we were ordering. The young man in the background repeated what we ordered and she still didn't seem to understand and was confused. She couldn't write down an order. Was told we might have to pay cash because there was an issue with the credit card machine. The menu was very limited, didn't have this, didn't have that. Prices raised and taped on top of the old prices on the counter. Shelves empty. When we handed cash, she couldn't make change and then gave my friend my change and back again because the tax wasnt calculated into the bill. We opted to take them to go and took our sandwiches next door to the ice cream shop and ate there and had ice cream with the very accommodating owner. We won't be back to...

We were in AJ today looking at a few flea markets and decided to get lunch and the Meat Slicer had a 4.5 rating and a deli sandwich sounded good to the both of us. So we went there and got a Slicer special to split with a couple waters and Cheetos. Before tax and tip that order was $17.15 after $21.60. The sandwich was very good with Loads of meat, but a deli should have some side salad and a pickle having a healthy portion of meats is just the start especially for a $12.69 sandwich. People were very nice, the server is a bit lackluster but that's pretty much what you get these days. The selection of drinks and chips was VERY LIMITED also another fail for a "deli". My rating for this establishment if I were talking about the sandwich only would be a 4.5, but given the idea we were going to a local deli with such a high rating within YELP our expectations were...
