The park itself seems like a good place for outdoor events. Parking was just across the street behind some businesses. They had a 3 stall women's bathroom with an adjoining men's bathroom 🚻. There was a nice water bottle refill station and drinking fountain between. Not hilly and no steps. Easy for motorized wheelchairs.
We were here today for a blues and bruise and arts festival.. They had a great lineup of music of music, and a variety of food trucks and vendors. There were several areas of port a potties in addition to the permanent bathrooms.
Now if you're an entitled jerk, you might want to complain that you have to stand in line just like the regular peasants who also bought their tickets ahead of time. But for me going to the festival was part of part of standing outside in A-line. Maybe people should reassess theireassess their expectations of how special they should be treated just because they can pay 25 bucks for a...
Read moreIt is pretty meh and I thought it would be larger. There is no true off-street parking from what I could see. When I saw the two gates with the Flatiron words engraved on them... there were diagonal parking spots that back out into the street- so just a row of parking vs actual parking lot. Walking past the gate, you can either go right and take a short gravel trail that could take under 3 minutes to complete...or you can go left and walk the concrete loop which take about 5 minutes to complete. There is one singular picnic ramada with a few tables underneath. There is also a very small play area with only like 3 things to play on. In the middle, there's just grass and a warning sign for snakes in the summer. Interestingly, there are also places with "designated" smoking areas in the park too- just makes you wonder why they would need those signs in...
Read moreWonderful facility. My great grandkids loved it. Only one other family there. Clean and well maintained. Bathrooms close by. The only major problem, the group of 6 - 8 homeless people , (including a 5 yr old girl which broke my heart). apparently living there, and fully taking over the picnic table and surrounding area. They did not bother us in any way, but it was disturbing to witness. Several of them rinsed/cooled off in the fountains and one of them slept for more than an hour right at the very edge of the splash pad, rather close to several of the fountains, where several young people were playing. Blessings to the kind soul who came thru with water for them. City of Apache Junction can't...
