My first time at The Elkridge Furnace Inn!✨ This historic property, dating back to the 1700s, is a landmark full of charm, stories, and incredible hospitality. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere made our dinner feel truly special. What really stood out, though, was the service. Our waitress was phenomenal, and Michael’s knowledge of the history and culinary details made the night feel so personal and memorable. Dining here is an experience you won’t forget. 🥰 What we ordered: 🍑 Peach mocktail 🧀 A board with Coppa, Beef Salami, and Paprika Cheddar 🥩 Filet topped with Truffle Butter and a side of Squash 🦆 Duck with a side of potatoes and carrots 🍫 Dubai Chocolate Cake 💜 Blackberry Tart All of the food was absolutely phenomenal! I cannot wait to come back 🫶 📍5745 Furnace Ave Elkridge, MD 21075 Hosted! 💛 #md #maryland #finedining #howardcounty #meetmeinmd

I am afraid I do not have the all the right words to help you truly understand how wonderful of a venue the Elkridge Furnace Inn is for a wedding. However, I will do my best to share how they made our wedding the best day of our lives. The Elkridge Furnace Inn was the very first venue we looked at for our wedding. We looked at about 10 places in total, but I knew all along that the Elkridge Furnace Inn was it! It was a little more costly than the other places we looked at, but they worked with our budget and I had no doubt that this place was 100% worth it. Our wedding was completely planned and ready to go for April 4th, 2020 – And then COVID hit… The entire state of Maryland essential shutdown just 2 and a half weeks before our wedding. The owners of the Elkridge Furnace Inn (as well as our coordinator) were so sympathetic, understanding, supportive, and worked with us immediately to secure a new date (just 4 months later). At the time of rescheduling, we had no idea that COVID would still be having such a major impact on our country. We were overwhelmed with anxiety as our new date was quickly approaching. The Elkridge Furnace Inn took quick and aggressive action to put safety measures in place and contract for additional outdoor tents which would enable them to increase their maximum capacity while still ensuring social distancing. This allowed us to go forward with re-inviting our entire 220-person guest list – A major relief to not have to make the tough decision of who we could no longer include on our special day. While, only about half of our guests chose to join us physically, we were still happy to have been able to make the choice theirs. The day of our wedding you would have no idea there was a worldwide pandemic going on. While the entire staff wore masks, tables were further apart, and there was a lot of hand sanitizer around, our fairy tale wedding still looked exactly how I had always dreamed it would. In fact, I will even go as far as to say it was MORE than I ever dreamed it could be. Our coordinator, Sarah Hardy, did a phenomenal job. The way in which she understood and executed my vision is beyond astonishing. Even if she doesn’t end up as your day of coordinator, go through her and her company ‘Something Blue Event Design’ for all of your wedding day details! Aside from the professionalism and impeccable customer service, the food at the Elkridge Furnace Inn is unlike any wedding food I have ever had – And I have attended close to 30 weddings over the course of my lifetime! The appetizers, entrees, cake, and late-night snacks were so incredible my mouth is watering just typing this review! Another thing I would like to point out is that, unlike many other venues, the Elkridge Furnace Inn only requires payment for the number of guests you submit to them two weeks before your wedding. Many other venues hold you to the number you contract with initially. Had the Elkridge Furnace Inn held us to that common practice, we would have lost money on about 75 guests. Even though it cost them to do so, the Elkridge Furnace Inn returned us a check for the number of guests who were no longer attending on our new date. This speaks volumes to the level of commitment the Elkridge Furnace Inn has to their customers. We even received a handwritten note from Chef Dan and Donna (the owners) upon return from our honeymoon. This venue truly is the best and we cannot wait to return to celebrate our 1-year anniversary (and many more) with them. (Photos By: Leigh Anne Brader Photography)

I was so looking forward to The Elkridge Furnace Inn, where we elected to celebrate an 80th birthday with a special dinner. The atmosphere is charming and elegant- the space is historic and lovingly cared for, but even that has certain challenges (only one bathroom that doesn't require stair usage). The menu looked fantastic and interesting. The waitstaff was young, but eager to assist. However, the food quality was generally just okay. A mistake was made on my Delmonico steak- I ordered it medium rare and it arrived well done. I'm not going to eat a well done steak, especially one that costs $48. Once I was able to bring it to a server's attention, they instantly addressed the problem and as soon as possible, they were back with a perfectly cooked, delicious steak. The problem is that everyone else at the table had finished eating by then, so I had to try to eat as fast as possible to try to keep everyone from waiting. Also, I do not like that they plunked cold butter on top of the steaks. Perhaps if the steak had been hotter when they applied the butter that would have been fine, but my steak (both of them) arrived with a cold pat of butter on top. I had the Leek and Cope's Dried Corn Bread Pudding as my side. It was cold, crumbly and frankly- inedible. My French onion soup was fine- a bit bland. I tasted my dining companion's cream of mushroom and it was divine. I also tasted another dining companion's butternut squash and it had a surprising and very tasty flavor palate. The Stuffed Rabbit Leg was good, though the mole sauce is on the rather spicy side. Unfortunately, the Seafood Risotto was disappointing. The risotto was starchy and the shrimp were woefully overcooked. The Furnace Pom Spritzer had more syrup than a Shirley Temple and was overly sweet. I did enjoy my house-made chocolate and hazelnut ice creams and the birthday girl enjoyed her cheesecake. At this price point compared with the food quality, I do not believe we will return.

The Elkridge Furnace Inn was the venue for my daughter's wedding on October 16, 2021. We chose the Elkridge Furnace Inn for many reasons. First, the food is exquisite as we have dined in their restaurant on many occasions enjoying a visit from Chef Dan Wecker to our table to ensure our meals were made to perfection. Second, the architecture of the Inn and the surrounding grounds bordering on the Patapsco River are beautifully appointed and offer a trip back into Maryland's historic pass. The grounds were a lovely backdrop for our wedding portraits. Third, the professional and highly trained staff, headed by Donna Wecker, handled all our needs and wishes throughout our event. The entire event, ceremony and reception, took place at Elkridge Furnace Inn making it very convenient and welcoming to our guests. We could not have asked for a better venue to host our daughter's wedding. However, I feel it is very important to add that on the day of our daughter's wedding it rained. The rain caused the ceremony to be held inside rather than overlooking the Patapsco River, the cocktail hour to be on the first and second floors of the Manor House rather than using the front lawn and porch, and the reception contained to the large tent which holds close to 200 people. Nonetheless, it was magical, a seamless change of plans, and the raindrops tapping on the tent added an angelic touch to the ceremony. The cocktail hour was wonderful with guests commenting on the beautiful setting. And the reception tent sparkled with mini lights, chandeliers, and a dance floor that encompassed the entire area. My daughter wanted great food and a great time for her guests. She said that everything was perfect and more than she expected. Rain can be a factor when choosing an outdoor venue, but Elkridge Furnance Inn's plan "B" handled everything perfectly. So look to The Elkridge Furnance Inn to make a wedding dream come true whether it rains or not. Thank you Elkridge Furnance Inn, we will always remember our special day. And we will continue to enjoy your restaurant and share our experience with brides-to-be. Thank you, Patricia Stocks (mother...

My wife and I had our wedding here on 4/21/18 and, because of the location and efforts of the staff at Elkridge Furnace Inn (EFI) it was perfect! When we arrived at 5pm everything was already setup for us (we had dropped off decorations the night before) and the staff was incredibly attentive to our needs! When we arrived an hour early with the groom and bridal parties to take pictures, they even had beer and wine waiting for us! When it was time for cocktail hour, the waiters were effortlessly passing out Hors d'oeuvre (which were delicious - especially the pesto mushrooms!) and making sure everything was in order. The location really is beautiful, and we were incredibly lucky that it was a beautiful spring day - pictures by the Patapsco river with the trees in bloom were a must! The interior, a 18th century design, was of course also beautiful.

For dinner, we had decided on a buffet style, with a French and Maryland themed station. The food at both was a hit! The guests especially enjoyed the crab cakes, fried oysters and beef bourguignon! We had a champagne toast, but a very nice waiter re-filled my glass! Did not expect that, but always happy to have a little extra champagne to calm my nerves as I went around the tables. We had ordered mini-cupcakes and wedding cake (of course!) and both were exceptional!

I want to give a special shout out to the staff, in particular to Donna and Bethany for helping us plan our special day, through all the emails, meetings, tastings, and other conversations leading up to the big day, and making sure everything was setup and answering last minute questions day-of. To the executive chef, Chef Wecker who's cooking was amazing, and even stopped by our sweetheart table to make sure everything was OK. Also to the bartender Theresa, she was a hit with all of the guests and was spot on with the drinks!

Thank you again Elkridge Furnace Inn! The location and service truly helped make our wedding day perfect, and my wife and I are excited to come back for our...
