Salpicón Restaurant — Restaurant in Arecibo

I strongly recommend El Salpicón. My wife and I went there on the recommendation of a good friend who lives a few towns over. We arrived on Saturday at opening time and the manager Denise politely told us that the kitchen was running a few minutes behind but to come in and look around and feel free to order drinks and appetizers while we waited. The views of the sea are amazing.

A few minutes later we placed our order for a shrimp salad and for a lobster mofongo. All the food is prepared fresh, and once our food arrived all I can say is… Wow!! I have eaten mofongo at many Puerto Rican and Dominican restaurants all over the place, and I can honestly say that this is by the far the best mofongo that I have had in my life. The texture of the mofongo, the crispness and the vast amount of lobster within it made for an amazing dish. The shrimp salad was very tasty with a large amount of shrimp in every bite.

For desert we had an a la mode chocolate pumpkin cake with coconut shavings. The mix of the delicious warmed cake and the vanilla ice cream on top was an amazing combination.

The service of the staff, the attention of the manager Denise and of course the amazing made this a visit to remember. Please visit El Salpicón as soon as you can and remember that they are only open weekends. You will thank me when you go, and say wow,...

Quiero empezar diciendo que la comida aquí es un 20/10 pero escribo este review para tratar de cambiar el pésimo servicio de la host. Puedo entender que eres la mama del dueño o familia. Pero negocios tenemos nosotros y no somos así. Numero 1 en todas las clases de marketing, customer service dicen el cliente siempre tiene la razon con usted esto nunca a pasado visito mucho este lugar pq la comida es rica y la sangria ni se diga. Pero hoy no puedo aplaudirte siempre es un dolor de cabeza poder ser feliz ya sea que tu actitud de siempre pensar que estas bien y el mar servicio daña la comida buena. Te trate de llamar hoy 9 veces para pedir dos mesas de 8 persona ya que el sueño de mi mama en su cumpleaños era comer ahi nunca lo quisiste coger y hasta nos los dijistes cuando llegamos. Me mientes diciendo que la mesa estaba cogida cuando obviamente no había nadie y me dijiste que tampoco puedo entrar pq estas a capacidad. No es mi primera vez en el lugar si roma se callo que era un imperio imagínate. Son los detalles pequeños que hacen a la gente grande. La ultima vez que fui estaba vacio con dos personas impedidas en sillas de rueda y volvistes a salir con mala actitud pq queriamos otra mesa para poder poner las sillas comodas. Antes de esa vez fui a un cumpleaños el sitio vacío de nuevo te pedimos cambiar de mesa por el aire acondicionado y de nuevo tu malísima actitud empaño el dia. Gracias por nada espero que si vuelvo ya tengas clases de customer service y tampoco me mientas en mi cara. De querer hablar con nosotros dejamelo saber estoy dispuesto a cooperar para ayudarlos a mejorar. Tenga un bello Domingo.

Update APR 6 pude venir un domingo la Host sigue siendo mala pero sentaron una mesa de 12 parece que las reglas es depende de las personas.foto de prueba para ayudar a su despido.

Update APR 20 no me deja someter mas reviews pero creeme que no vamos a estar en silencio. Hoy se bajo alguien nuevo para que la host no viniera a peliar. Le dijos que la espera era d 2 horas para 7 algo normal que ella dice cuando no quiere atenderte. En ese proceso paso alguien quejandose del mar servicio de la host espero que dejen el review y le den like a este. Luego se bajo otra persona de mi grupo y le dijo que ya cerro a las 5:36 cuando el lugar dice a las 7. Apoyo para botarla por favor es una falta de respeto a los boricuas. Haces que todos se vayan...

The manager lady was insulting and indicated that the times of the customer being right were over. The service person was great but this lady manager is not the person to be managing this business. The only thing I brought to her attention was that she was very difficult when the waiter asked me to see the wines he had behind the bar. She indicated that I should immediately leave the area behind the bar. I told her that the waiter asked me to do so. At the time of payment that is when she told me that I had an attitude and that I shouldn’t come back and that I should leave the facilities and wait for my wife out side (she was in the bathroom).
