Well, they have a Ms Pacman & Defender 80s game consoles on the floor still charging a quarter, that was worth three stars right there.
Better half was a gaming state champ way back in the early 80s, so it was awesome to find a hole in the wall so close that offered this flashback. I played Ms Pacman a tad & did far better than I expected. This alone means we will be back to try other menu options.
I walked in & The Chain by Fleetwood Mac played, left with Blondie's Heart of Glass. Appropriate.
Place is super tiny & unless you know your date enjoys tiny, grungy, possibly no bathroom & iffy air conditioning, pick a different location. Not enough room to bring roaming kids either.
We ordered the gyro platter for 14.00, large antipasto salad for 12.00, plus a fountain soda. You pay at the counter & they bring it out.
Place was friendly, portions were enough to take home leftovers & food was delicious.
Low carbers & keto have options.
The rest of the iffy, prices are a little too high, but that's everywhere now, still sucks. Be prepared to spend apx $3 more per dish as listed on Google info.
Place is super grungy. I sat there eyeing everything wanting to clean the place like it would have been a birthday gift to myself.
Point to the bathroom, clean up the place, upgrade the air & improve from the other negative reviews.
Why 5 stars?
Well, as mentioned.. Video game consoles, great attitude, music & food was delicious. It felt like the mid 80s for the east coaster & the west coaster....

The food could be better. And luckily, the changes it needs are minor and have more to do with attention to detail.
I would get rid of the pizza screens immediately and switch to solid pans or baking directly on the steel surface of the pizza oven. When you combine the less intense, indirect Heat you get from a screen with what I assume is a lower oven temp due to it being a slower day, you don't get caramelization but rather a crunchy Browning more reminiscent of a saltine.
Pizza is almost entirely time and temperature. Ingredients are simple and regardless of what a food distributor tells you, tomatoes, nine times out of ten, are just tomatoes.
Pizza ovens are costly to run. It sucks. But you got to crank that thing to get the right flavor. Otherwise, unwanted flavors from the deep dark corners of an aging walk-in cooler bake into your pizza instead of steaming off.
You know how to make dough. You know how to give customer service. And you know what a real pizza shop looks like.
Crank That oven, bake directly on the steel or solid greased pan and save the parsley for your spaghetti sauce ( whole plum tomatoes, salt. oregano. puree. done.) and you won't need to lower the oven temperature on slow days because you won't have slow...
Read moreMight be my new favorite pizza spot in Tucson.
What I love about this spot is that it does not rely on any gimmicks or claims about its food, rather they offer simple items without trying so hard like other restaurants. If you like your pizza with a crunch and a close to perfect ratio of cheese and sauce, this is the right place. Though the prices may be a little higher than other places in Tucson, the taste makes it well deserved.
I didn't have to wait long for our food to be ready (I ordered the Gyro + Fries and a Pepperoni slice) Both items came out quickly and remained hot for quite some time. I liked it so much, I even ordered another slice to go and that slice tasted just as good as the first. The gyro itself tasted great with fresh toppings and the right amount of Tzatziki sauce. They definitely were not stingy on that,
If I lived in the neighborhood, I might be visiting this place on a weekly basis. Can't wait to go back and try other items...
