I recently dined at Jackie's Mexican food on West McDowell, and overall, I had a great experience. The standout items for me were the carne asada nachos and the burritos.
Firstly, let's talk about the carne asada nachos. The portion size was generous, and they were incredibly filling. However, I must admit that I wasn't a big fan of the nacho chips themselves. They seemed less than freshly made, which took away from the overall enjoyment. Nevertheless, the toppings, particularly the tender carne asada, were flavorful and satisfying.
Moving on to the burritos, they were simply delicious. I appreciated the fact that the prices were fair, and to my surprise, the burrito came with guacamole at no additional cost. The flavors were well-balanced, and the ingredients tasted fresh. The burritos were definitely a highlight of the meal.
One piece of advice I would offer is to call in your order ahead of time, especially if you plan to visit on a busy night like Friday. We had to wait for about 30 minutes, which was a bit longer than we anticipated. However, considering the quality of the food, I would say it was worth the wait.
In conclusion, I highly recommend Jackie's Mexican food for its delicious burritos and filling carne asada nachos. While the nacho chips could be improved, the flavors and portion sizes were impressive. The fair prices and complimentary guacamole with the burrito are additional reasons to give this place a try. Just remember to plan ahead and call in your order to avoid a...
Read moreWe have ordered food from here many of times and have always been very pleased with our food. I’m not sure what exactly happened today that changed our positive experience upside down. I ordered the mixed enchiladas ( one cheese, one chicken, one carne asada ) my husband ordered a burrito… Two very common Mexican dishes. When we got home and opened our food we were speechless… I would be absolutely ashamed and embarrassed to hand someone food like this. We are Mexican and I could have gone to Taco Bell for a more traditional dish than what we received tonight. My enchiladas were three soggy and cold tortillas made with meet and folded over like a taco, all stacked one on top of the other, thrown in a to go box. The “carne asada” was far from that, I ended up with ground beef it really not sure that it was. The “cheese enchilada” was cold shredded cheese, not even melted just slapped on… ordered with a side of Mexican rice which was old, cold and hard!! My husbands burrito? Made of probably the same ground beef or pieces of carne asada that were all burned and charred. When I called the establishment to let them know all they said was, “sorry about that.” Nothing else, not an attempt to make it right or better. We won’t ever be back. Shame on you. Les viera de...
Read moreNot sure how the other foods are but we ordered chili rejenos and the 3 different enchiladas. The enchiladas not so great they smothered everything with red sauce and didn't know that. We would have preferred if they'd asked but green is really good thats our preference however. The chili rejenos were not omlette style i hate the egg style they were deep fried and very good. Konda small but hey its a chili and you don't eat them all the time unless you make them lol. But those were pretty good, good heat too. I can't really rate a star level since its the first visit but it was ok. The price was 30.00 for the enchiladas, 2 chili rejenos, the horchata drink small and a small other drink forgot name. The Horchata you could tell its a powder mix, the powder formed at the bottom later on but still drinkable. Honestly Horchata......go to QT and get the frozen ! BTW those are really great! Put a cinnamon and wow! Yep I like those. Anyhow.....I heard other plates are good. And should have tried the manudo. Sundays...Manudo but heard it has garbanzo beans in it and I was told thats a filler not authentic. I had Manudo with the garbanzo and yeah....that was awesome! But they don't...
