We visited the Boyce Thompson Arboretum today and looked for a good place to stop for a late lunch. Saw The Prospector was open and it looked to be on the golf course so we headed that way. It's a small place with maybe 8 tables inside and had a good size, dog friendly patio that overlooks the greens. Our server Cassandra, was fantastic, especially when it was myself, a girlfriend, and our two daughters. I was nervous when I saw most of the people eating were golfers and I didn't want to disrupt the place with our kiddos but everyone was great. I was torn on several items on the menu, including a taco salad, buffalo chicken salad burgers, sandwiches, nachos but I landed on two soft ground beef tacos and a side of fries. The sauce and meat were very tasty and I especially loved their style of fries. My daughter asked if they could accommodate a grilled cheese that was off menu, and they were completely open to it. Also, the other little girl with us asked for an open face quesadilla and they also had no issues. The food was reasonably priced and we not only enjoyed our meal, our service, but we also enjoyed other company from guests at the table near us. I would recommend this place when you are in the area. 5 star service.

I'm glad we tried this little restaurant. We did a pickup. They have basic American flare choices. The staff was very pleasant. The burger was tasty, but cooked a bit uneven, as well the buns were crazy dry and crispy. Chicken tenders were good, and they have steak fries. Onion rings were perfectly cooked. The fish and chips were also good.

Absolutely delicious! The golfers were there having a seasonal roundup and rowdy, but it was worth it - the food was so good. Suggestion: "the zippy" chicken sandwhich should be a grilled chicken breast, not shredded chunks, imho.

What a great little restaurant! We had an appt in Gold Canyon, so we decided to go out for lunch as a family and the Rueben caught my eye from a review I saw. This unassuming little bistro/cafe/restaurant is part of the golf course clubhouse building, so you can't see much from the road. But it has an outdoor seating area that had both sun and shade during the 110 heat. Inside was small, but comfortable. We lowered the median age by a good 20 years, but no one minded that we were there among the retired golfers. :) It was quiet, which is nice! The manager (not sure of his role, so it's an assumption) was prompt and very friendly. He said it's been slow since the snowbirds left. He recommended kid-faves (chicken fingers), customer-faves (the Reuben), and restaurant specials (the green chile pork burrito). We happened to order one of each, and my son ordered the manager's favorite (the hot turkey sandwich and onion rings)--all the food was outstanding! They make their own dressings, salsas, coleslaw, and potato salad. The salsa was delicious and I wish I had more; the ranch was buttermilk-style and was tasty. My husband said he would come back for the Reuben, which is pretty high praise for him.

All the food was thoroughly delicious and portions were generous, even for lunch. The service was top-notch. The manager gave us a menu to take home, which we plan on perusing in anticipation of family visiting. We will be back to this tasty little gem, even if it's a 40-minute drive from Florence, to avoid the hustle and bustle of Queen...

Ate breakfast here on Sunday morning. Two young gals as servers. No greeting, no smiles. It was like they did not want to be there. We saw customers having to go to the bar and get servers attention to get refills on coffee. Our server asked us if we wanted more coffee AFTER meal was finished. Then she asked us if WE remembered if she had asked us if we wanted more coffee or not. The one server looked like she had us rolled out of bed. When finished eating, no bill brought to table. We ended up going to bar and pay.

We asked where our favorite waitress was, Ann. They let her go because she couldn’t keep up???Really??? I would much rather have a “senior” server who has a personality than the younger ones that do not want to be there and it shows on their faces and...
