Yall- If you haven't been to The Fat Chef YOU NEED TO GO NOW!!! The owners are active in the business and you can truly see how much they care. Staff was attentive and constantly moving. The place was packed on a busy Friday night yet they still kept up the flow beautifully!
I literally have NEVER been somewhere where EVERYTHING was cooked to perfection. I am talking even beer battered steak fries were holy hell amazing. I have lived in the Pacific Northwest, an hour from the coast and yet have not had scallops so perfectly cooked. I swear they were JUST pulled from the water!! How??
Seafood-just to die for. Steak- omg how was it so good?! Dessert- kill me now that was the best thing I have ever known. Yeah so take all my $$ now guys. We may pop in for brunch. I just died the food coma death of heaven!
We had the stuffed mushrooms appetizer - packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. Both had the ceaser and I have NEVER had a proper dressing like that except where I have made it myself! Not out here in Arkansas yet!! My husband ordered their Bone in Prime Rib Special and it was so tender, so juicy, it melted. We added shrimp and scallops add on and both were perfection. The shrimps were massive! I got the Crab Rangoon dip as my main meal and was floored. You can tell instantly there is a heavy helping if REAL crab meat and it shows! The wild mushroom special side was just fabulous.....no skimping on butter and it made ALL THE DIFFERENCE. The Corn Souffle is everything it's hyped to be! Dessert we tried the Lava Cake ( as expected at this point, also perfectly done! The chocolate shavings were the perfect addition) and the Toffee Caramel crepe which was the most decedent thing I have tried. Our server Carly was just the best as well! She made the experience so wonderful!
Yes their prices may be higher than we usually see here, but 100% worth it, the quality and care match. In fact prices maybe could be raised, it's THAT good. You absolutely get ABOVE what you pay for here. Thanks The Fat Chef Team for making my Husband's Birthday one of the best in...
Read moreThe waitstaff salvaged this review. My husband had been told to bring me here for a date as it was one of the BEST places to get food. We got a couple alcoholic beverages, the $240 porterhouse steak, lobster, shrimp, potatoes, and veggie special. The waitresses spoke very highly of the French trained chef. When we recieved our meal it looked beautiful and the scallops were cooked to perfection and my potatoes was one of the fluffuiest I've ever had. We asked for our steak to be medium rare. When I started cutting into the NY strip side it looked like much more of a well done cook. The center was closer to a medium well so we were willing to be forgiving. That being said when I cut into the fillet side it was so well done it looked like a brisket. I've never seen steak cooked that poorly before. We mentioned it to the waitress and she took the steak back for a minute to show the chef and he told her to being it back out and he would cook another filet for us. It took almost 30 minutes to recieve that filet and my husband unfortunately never even got a chance to eat the steak because it was boxed for us to go. I am so so so utterly disappointed. The lobster was over cooked and chewy and the shrimp was undercooked to the point of being slimy still. When we drop over $300 plus tips we have VERY high expectations and unfortunately this chef didn't even meet the expectations we would have at a Golden Corral. We honestly could have gone to Ruth's Chris twice over and gotten the quality of food we would expect from someone who charges $240 for a meal. We didn't feel like there was enough of an attempt to rectify the situation to justify ever giving them a second chance. There wasn't a discount given, a free dessert or anything. $370 is way too much money to spend on a mediocre meal especially when you've been so...
Read moreHands down the best meal we have had eating out in five years. I called last minute and Christine, one of the owners and the hostess fit us right in. We started with the homemade onion rings. They were dipped in a beer batter and outstanding (brought three home). We were also served a nice loaf of bread that Christine had baked herself. It was so tasty. Our entrees came with a house salad. It was well presented with very fresh ingredients and not so large that it would fill us up before our steaks.
The hit of the meal was the steaks. Christine let us know they were all Prime grade and sourced a group of six farms in Iowa (as a rancher I often ask who supplies your beef). I had the T-bone Charbroiled (24-26 oz.) cooked medium rare. Richard , the chef and also Christine’s husband, cooked it just the way I asked and it was outstanding (brought two-thirds of it home!!!). My wife had the Filet(Pan Seared) 6 oz cooked medium. She said it was delicious. Both of us thought the baked potatoes were superb. And the squash medley was well seasoned. For dessert we had the Pecan Cobbler with the vanilla ice cream…which we took to go…it was so good.
Our server was Rich and he was busy but took great care to see if we needed anything during the evening. The Fat Chef is in an older restaurant but it had a quaint atmosphere. A FIVE...
