I've wanted to try this restaurant since I passed it last year while it was still under construction. I love eating at breakfast places, and between what friends have told me and the reviews here on Yelp this place seemed like my kind of restaurant. The only reason I hadn't made it in sooner was because I live on the opposite corner of the city. I had to wait for a day I was reasonably close by. That finally happened the morning of Friday, May 7.
Unfortunately, I never got to eat any of the food. Or even place my order for that matter.
I walked in a few minutes before 9:30am and was greeted right away. They were only seating customers in the front section of the restaurant, so I had to wait for the one open booth to be cleared off and wiped down. No problem there. They told me what they were doing and, once it was cleaned off, showed me to the table.
And that was the last time any employee talked to me.
It takes me a little while to look over a breakfast menu and decide what I want to eat. Do I want biscuits and gravy? What about a waffle? The burrito looked tempting. And then there was the Monte Carlo. I've never had one of those for breakfast before.
Once I figured out what I wanted, I looked at my watch. Six minutes had passed since I had been seated, and no one had come over to my table. No greeting, no "I'll be right with you," no nothing. I had seen exactly one server after I had been seated, who had taken the order of the table next to mine. She didn't say a word to me when she approached that table or when she left it.
I gave it a couple more minutes. The same server went up to another table in the opposite forward section from the one I was sitting in. I'm not sure what she was doing at the table (I couldn't hear what they were talking about). I looked towards the register to see if I could get anyone's attention, but no one was there.
While I don't mind waiting, I do mind being ignored. With no way to get anyone's attention, I had no choice but to leave without getting a chance to...

My oh my how things change so quickly , the last 4 times I have been here the servers are rude, very slow , laughing at the front before the come to take your order , once they take your order , count your blessings if you get your drinks before your meal . While your food is getting cold before they bring it they are busy having friendly conversations by the front door . Never mind that you still donāt have a drink and once you get a drink Forget, asking for refills because you will not get any . Donāt ask for salsa because they will forget . And the waitress attitude is disgusting to say the least ⦠Uggghhhh sadly disappointed. I was so excited about this place and kept thinking , itās just a bad day for the server. After the 4th incident with 2 different servers . Count Me Out, Ive been going to āOur Place Restaurant ā in Mansfield and Gladly waiting 45 minutes . Great Customer Service is key!

Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst, I found this restaurant on a Google search because I woke up Saturday morning and was craving French Toast. I live in Forest Hill and your restaurant came up as the second choice on Google. I had already tried the first choice, which is less than 5 minutes from my houseā¦..it was a poor decision. (They are horrible!!)
Second, I am a foodie and will drive for some good food!! Babeeeeeeeeeā¦..this place is worth the drive!! The entire atmosphere is so welcoming that I completely forgot that I was in Texas! (This state is racist). The smell of what is coming from the kitchen will take you to grandmamas house, down in the countryā¦..truly a blessing!!
Third, I had 3 people, besides the young man who served me, who went out of their way to speak to me and welcome me to their restaurant. Even other customers were speaking to me and that just made my day and this was before I even ordered food.
Fourth, as a gay man, I look for restaurants that have āthe vibeā when it comes to the community. Right away, I saw my community and they were smiling!! Nowā¦ā¦you know I have to tell the rest of the community to come and support!!
Fifth, and finallyā¦ā¦letās talk about the food!!! I have 4 words that truly will sound better than most sex!! āBlueberry Muffin French Toastāā¦ā¦ā¦yes, this is where you clutch your pearls!!! I sat at home in shame and delightā¦..all at the same damn time! Total genius whoever put those items together! I am going back and I know my personal trainer is gonna have HUGE issuesā¦..but hell, I pay him, not the other way around! I need to know if they serve gritsā¦.if not, ADD IT!!šš
I will keep you posted on the wonder of this...
