After 3 years vegan and 6.5 plant-based, this fine establishment did not disappoint. Just because I wanted to make sure that I made good use of the experience, I wanted to try it all! Being from Central MA I was excited for the variety of fresh seasonal vegetation. The reviews meant that I would be in for fresh-made food that would not be salty and I’m here for it! Being plant-based means quality food that’s healthy so that we can enjoy cocktails and good wine :) We started with the Egg Rolls and Sourdough Bread with Oil. The Lychee Martini was made from a puree and on the sweet side but delicious as ever. Very refreshing! The bread is worth taking home in a paper bag if you don’t finish it. We had some the next day with breakfast eggs and butter. The Tofu Steak and Cauliflower reheats very well the next day and the Mac n Cheese (made vegan by cashew cream) is great but I would have liked more seasoning and more sauce. The noodles were cooked to perfection. My great friend enjoyed the quesadilla. It was crisp and flavorful and not too big but enough for one person. The highlights for me are the friendly and the fresh food. I can see some thinking the food is bland but for those who put health first I give it 10 stars. Thanks for taking food to the next level and making great food so we can enjoy a fine meal out with the girls. Thanking my great friend Bryce Lenzen of Kennebunkport for the great meal!

Had a very positive experience at the new Bandaloop location. Looks like a successful move and transition, so they can expand what they did in the past. Some very familiar menu offerings, w several new ones. One option was a chef special prix fixe menu reasonably priced. I wanted to check this location out but was a little leery of food quality after reviewing the menu in advance. I say that because many dishes had so many ingredients, possibly over complex or making them muddled. I was wrong. We had a great culinary experience where ingredients complimented and added to each dish. They appear to take advantage of local fresh ingredients and focus on vegetarian and gluten free options. They do have beef and other protein, seafood, etc... This place is very different than most local places, featuring traditional coastal American cuisine. Cool restored barn dining room with attention to decor. I will say the new swanky bar stools were uncomfortable with a low bar, with limited leg space. Not a deal breaker, but worth noting. Service was on point and attentive. Will be back.

Me and my wife decided to come here for Maine Restaurant Week. We were excited to use it as an excuse to try some new places. We were left less than impressed. I will say, the atmosphere and look of the restaurant was very nice, but that's where the superlatives stop.

Right off the hop, they were 15 minutes late seating us for our reservation. We came in for what was a set menu for Maine Restaurant week, and the menu options we were given was not what was advertised online. We decided to order anyways, even though what was being offered wasnt particularly exciting. Our side salads came and looked very skimpy. After we had finished them, another waiter tried to bring us other side salads that were meant for a different table that were much more substantial than ours with several ingredients ours didnt have on them at all. When our meals came (half an hour after the salads), another waiter came and informed me that the meal brought to me was meant for another table and swapped my plate for another that had different sides. The vegetables and the potatoes were bland. Tasted like they had zero seasoning of any kind and the table had no salt or pepper. My pork tenderloin was cooked to death and borderline burnt.

In the end, I'd say maybe it was an off night but they really struck out from start to finish. I can't envision a scenario where me and my wife would...

Disappointing is the best term to sum up my experience.

I have been keen to try Bandaloop for a long time. I had only heard great things from those I know so I had high expectations. We made a reservation but were seated late, which happens - no big deal. The atmosphere is lovely, they've got a very appealing space. We ordered almost immediately and the salads came out quite quickly, they looked okay and the dressing was yummy. They seemed to be missing ingredients which was made clear when we were brought a second round of salads that were taken away but looked more complete. Our dinner arrived after a very long wait and we were starting to eat when our waitress came by and had to take my husband's meal away and replace it with the correct meal. Everyone was very nice but we were served by three different people at the table and it felt like there were too many hands and they were getting things quite confused. The plating is lovely, their sauces are delicious but this is outweighed by bland sides. My husband's pork was very over cooked and dry, I'm surprised they even served it. Dessert came quickly and was delicious.

I'm not saying you can't have a wonderful experience there but overall for us the experience was disappointing and based on it we wouldn't...
