We were in Florida and this was the last time I'll ever step foot into a Waffle House again. A friend and I decided to visit this place upon my recommendation because I ate at these places in the past. So this lady waited on us and appearances is a plus, don't have to be a model or anything, but this older lady looked like she hadn't showered in over a week, her hair was really bad, nails were dirty, and teeth was bad. We ordered breakfast and while she was delivering it to us, a guy was putting on his jacket, didn't see her coming and he accidentally put his sleeve into one plate and had grits all over his jacket, he apologized immediately and I told him it wasn't his fault, it was OK. She continued to bring the food to the table, I asked her what she was doing, and she said bringing you your food. I said to her no you're not after a guy ran his arm through it and has grits on his sleeve. She was ruffled and said I'll get you another plate. I could see the kitchen and the counter from where I was sitting. So she brought me another plate. After we started eating, the eggs were runny, ham had a terrible taste, toast was old and cold and the grits were crunchy, and the waffles were paper thin and doughy in the middle. I took three bites and was done, coffee was gross too. My friend told her about our food, and she said the district manager was cooking, he needs to be trained, retrained, or fired. She gave us 10% off, should've been free since we didn't eat. So she took our plates, then she took my ham I didn't eat, cut a piece to fit my toast that was left over and made a ham sandwich out of it, off my plate, yuck. Then a girl was clearing off tables and was vaping in there while working and blowing vape smoke all over the place. Just gross, all the way around. I will, never, ever frequent this restaurant chain ever again. We should've walked a little further and went to Shoney's. Good luck to them and their...
Read moreTraveling to Jacksonville, Fla on 4/15, a beautiful Saturday morning. Decided to stop for a bite to eat and my Lovin' (my wife, that is) decided she wanted to eat at Waffle House she had spotted. A quaint little spot in Ashburn, Ga. However, it was all but quaint inside. (Okay, this review isn't going to be so good😧). This place is close to being a dump! Renovation, remodeling, and a retro upgrade is very much needed, ASAP!
THE SERVICE😧Our server, bless his heart, did his best to help us enjoy being there. Didn't work. I almost got up and walked out.
THE FOOD😧 WHERE DO I START🤔 The grits were delightful😁 The bacon was "SOUTHERN COMFORT"😁 We ordered orange juice which, to our surprise, comes to you in a 10.5 oz. plastic bottle😲 So! You won't be getting any refills on there OJ😁 And, at today's high prices, I didn't even dare to question the price of that iddy biddy bottle of OJ🤔 So! My Lovin' opted for an Arnold Palmer (because they had sweet tea), however, in order to get an Arnold Palmer, your have to purchase an iddy biddy 10.5 oz bottle of lemonade and mix it yourself! 🤣 She settled for just the tea instead, which was pretty darn good; refreshing! Her food selection was good and tasty. My selection was a ham, egg, and cheese hash brown bowl. Very disappointing to the sight, but to my taste otherwise.
THE CONCLUSION😇 If you happen to find yourself traveling down I-75 and decide to make a stop in Ashburn, GA for a sit-down bite to eat, go and sit yourself down at the Shoney's not at the Waffle House. I'm pretty darn sure you'd get your OJ in at least a 16 oz. glass or cup...
Read moreCame here around 1am on a Friday morning (driving through the night to FL & all that was open). When we pulled off the highway we noticed the area had a lot of shady characters all around outside stores/buildings. Waffle house itself only had one guy out front dancing pretty much humping the air. He didn't bother us though & we didn't care, just weird. The staff was very friendly & helpful. The food was all fresh & good except the sausage patties were definitely old & gross. I intended on getting links but didn't specify & wasn't asked. Do not recommend patties. The worker upsold me on toppings for our waffles. Food was quick & fresh & good (except sausage). Every employee in there (4 total, but I think 1 or 2 were off duty/on break) spoke to me, answered any questions, & said either hello, goodbye, or both... even the ones that appeared to be on break/off. To sum it up, I would definitely recommend this Waffle House but just use caution at night just cuz the area might not be the best & its not very well lit in the parking...
