Was in town for a solo weekend and figured I'd try El Dorado based on all the positive reviews. This place was PACKED when I got there, but the staff was super nice and attentive. I had to wait for a place to sit but the staff was very efficient at clearing tables so the wait wasn't long. I was also given the option of ordering before being seated since they kept close tabs on their tables and knew one would free up before my food was done; never been given that option before and it was fantastic.
Speaking of food; it was superb. I got the chicken dish that was on special that night and it was exactly what I was looking for. The complimentary chips were warm and had a great flavor that went well with the salsa.
Service overall was also really good. Staff were all friendly and food came out quick. I even had a minor "small world" moment with a super friendly staff member who happened to share my first name. Overall I'd say I got better service here than I did at my hotel, so a big high-five to the El Dorado team (or do we only do fist-bumps now?). If I ever find myself in Ashland again, I'll make sure I pay them a visit and get myself...
Read moreWe visited here for the first time on September 12, 2024, and at first, we weren't sure it was open because there weren't any cars parked there. But we pulled in and saw the Open sign, so we decided to stop in and eat.
The staff was quick to greet us and very friendly! The restaurant has a great view (aside from being across the street from the lake) but it still was nice! The restaurant wasn't busy at all, we were one of 3 groups there.
Service was very quick! I liked that the beers were served in chilled glasses! The chips and salsa was good! However, the food could have been better. I ordered a combo plate, which had a taco, tostada, and enchilada. There was too much sour cream and beans on my tostada, which made it soggy and not able to be picked up, the enchilada was luke warm, and the beef taco was bland. He enjoyed his enchilada plate, though, so maybe it was just the type of combo plate I ordered.
Overall, we enjoyed eating here, I just wish the food would've been better. I still recommend stopping in to eat here though because it was a...
Read moreDisappointing. We came from out of town and there was a line out the door. Locals in line told us what a great spot this was for authentic Mexican fare. The disappointment settled in about 5 minutes into our meal. It took forever to get our food and drinks, we waited over 30 minutes for a refill on water, Margaritas, or chips. the toilet in the women's restroom was inoperable and the trash can was overflowing with paper towels. We didn't receive the appetizer we asked for. The chicken tacos included peppers, which I dislike very much, and was not stated on the menu. The music was so loud it was hard to hear each other talk. I would not come back here again. Margaritas were also overpriced and sickeningly sweet. Save your money- go to Taco Bell and pick up some margarita mix from your local grocery store, and call it a night instead of...
