This Giovanni's restaurant is closest to my home, so it's my usual choice for ordering, but I'm considering stopping. I feel the staff lacks proper training in preparing the dishes, or perhaps they simply don't care. The pizza routinely has excessive cheese and sauce. When you request a light serving of these, they almost disappear.
Last night, we ordered a party special with a 19-inch pepperoni pizza, two orders of cheese sticks, a Big Red sandwich, and a cookie. While the cookie and cheese sticks were acceptable, the pizza was overladen with sauce and cheese. The sandwich, which was supposed to be a Big Red, turned out to be an Italian.
I called the store and asked for a Big Red replacement, which they prepared. After picking it up and returning home, I discovered the sandwich lacked the Red sauce, the integral component that makes a Big Red. Additionally, they didn't remake the fries. Although there was nothing inherently wrong with the fries, they had turned cold by the time I got back home from the store, so I would have appreciated a fresh batch.
I'm tired of spending a significant amount on Giovanni's, which isn't cheap, only to receive subpar food. If you plan to visit a Giovanni's, I recommend trying another location, such as the one on...
Read moreBest pizza ever made. Period. End of story. Don’t debate me. I’m right. And Blackburn Giovanni’s is hands down the best location I’ve visited. See…they don’t all have the buffet with the little sandwiches. But Blackburn does!! And You can have as many slices of pizza awesomeness as well as a very nice salad AND the hot ham and cheese sandwich (which must be made by the hands of angels and likely includes unicorn meat because this is the best sandwich that ever existed or ever will). I could go on for hours about my live for Giovanni’s but you won’t truly appreciate it until you try it. So go try it!! Also, if you live in another state (that hasn’t had the good fortune to experience Giovanni’s) Blackburn Giovanni’s will UPS you some prepared, frozen pies to heat up and enjoy in whatever horrible town you must live (since there’s no Giovanni’s close to you. Sorry. I know…I...
Read moreMy family has been consuming pizza here since before I was even alive. By far it is my favorite pizza establishment on the planet. I even like the pizza here more than the pizza I had in Milan. HOWEVER, I would love to know the reason behind the switch to square slices, and to make an appeal to go back to traditional slices. Please guys, don’t fix what isn’t broken, and go back to normal slices for the large pizzas. The small slices are awkward and most of them have no crust, meaning that most “slices” offer an incomplete pizza experience. I’m sitting at a table with my family, and we’re all losing our minds over these awkward squares. They’re harder to maneuver out of the box and have a much less elegant form factor than the traditional slice. I love you guys and would greatly appreciate a switch back to traditional slices. Thank you...
