I had a great experience at Big Jud's in Ashton, ID. The burgers are really good and so is the chicken. The portion sizes were huge, so I had to take some home for later. The service was friendly and efficient, and the prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. The restaurant was clean and cozy, with a casual atmosphere. There were some pictures of people who had completed the **Big Jud challenge**, which is to eat a 1lb or 2lb burger with fries in a certain time limit. I was impressed by their feat, but I don't think I could ever do it myself. I would definitely recommend Big Jud's to anyone who loves burgers and chicken, or just wants to try something different. It's worth the drive to Ashton, ID for this amazing place. You won't regret it!

Called ahead to make sure they were open since the place we were ‘thinking’ of going to was closed. VERY fortunate for us our ‘thinking’ was thwarted and we were able to experience Big Jud’s. Just coming off a 45+ mile Yellowstone backcountry trek, and having Kenzie serve our group, topped off a fantastic 5 day adventure. She was extremely personable and quite attentive even with the place being packed. It seemed like she was having her own ‘40 mile’ excursion serving multiple tables AND ringing up customers. Experience Big Jud’s for yourself. From the wonderful conversation’s with other travelers and hometown folk to the fantastic food and best service around, Big Jud’s is a MUST STOP if you’re within 500 miles of this eatery.

The food is REALLY GOOD!!! The portions are good sized! A large fry fed 4 kids. They have kid sizes but it is not listed on the menu. Down side: the restaurant is really dirty. The booths are covered in crumbs and food. The cook seemed over whelmed. We got 3 burgers then 10 min later 3 more burgers..... then later our other 2. It wasn't that busy so maybe they were new. The bathrooms are really gross. The stall trash cans were over flowing. The floors were dirty and covered in grim. I think the gas station runs the bathrooms. The staff didn't seem to care when we told them about the bathrooms.

EAT SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! This place has gone so far downhill that i would expect them to be shut down by the health department soon!

I am not exaggerating when i say that this was the worst restaurant experience of my life! We had planned to visit Mesa Falls for a familiar hike with our grandson. Instead, we endured over two hours of uninterupted disappointment--thank you Big Juds!

The restaurant was busy when we arrived so we resigned ourselves to a slower dining experience--we did not set our expectations low enough.

Despite watching many guests arrive after us and receive menus and their drink orders, we did not have a server visit our table for 45 minutes. When we mentioned our wait, our server responded that they were, "switching to sections so we don't really know how long people have been waiting." There was no apology or acknowledgement of our wait (we had two senior citizens and our 6 month grandson at the table). During our wait, we had the pleasure of watching the bus boy drop trash throughout the restaurant including a full cup of soda in front of the kitchen door which he never lifted a finger to clean up nearly resulting in a server landing on our table when she slipped on the pool of soda.

In the end, most of our party never got their food. I asked to speak to the manager but he told our server that, "he was busy and get us when he got around to us." After more than two hours of constant abuse, I asked for the check so we could leave. I was surprised to learn that they charged me for food that we still had not received. Naturally, I asked for the manager and for them to make this correction. They made me wait an additional ten minutes for the manager, but he never came to the register. By this time, we were just done. After much deliberation two servers were able to prepare our check. I didn't take time to review the details and left. It turns out that they still charged us for three drinks that they NEVER brought to our table in addition to one entree that we never received.

The service was beyond negligent and the level of incompetence we observed in the open kitchen area made certain that we will never return despite many years of previpus patronage. If that was not enough, the food was also quite bad. The cooking oil was in need of changing which caused all of the food to look and taste burned.

Please do not subject your family or friends to this horror show of incompetence. We paid nearly double for what we...

I really do try to be understanding when a place is busy and this place was PACKED when we went [last night]. The busboy was on top of things and tried to get tables clean quick. One waitress kept playing with her hair. One didn't smile and acted like she didn't want to be there. The other one seemed nice but I know she was probably tired(like I said, it was PACKED). The food was no different than something we would have gotten st Sonic or DQ.... Except WAAAAY more expensive. My husband and I decided to get a shake and a malt. We got them, paid for our food/ice cream, then left. Our bill was outrageous, and I'll be honest, I didn't argue on it. You don't get an itemized receipt. Just a receipt with your total. I just wanted to get out of there. I have no idea how long I stood there to pay my bill but it was a good few minutes. We didn't have a chance to try our shake or malt until we had already left. They were disgusting. It tasted like burnt plastic. We'll never go back. Waste of time and money. I put 2 stars because their ranch dressing was good and my daughter liked the halibut sandwich.... But that's really it. My husband got sick after eating the bleu burger, so I wouldn't recommend that one. He's eaten those burgers before at other restaurants and never had any issues. Just here. I'd suggest somewhere else if you're looking for a restaurant. I'd even stop at Family Dollar in Ashton for a Lunchable before going here again. Just...

Love the food and I do go quite a bit since I live in Idaho falls and have a cabin in island park. However this last time I went was March 5 with two friends. It was busy but it always is. We sat down and ordered like everyone else we saw come and go. However it took at least 45 minutes to even get our fries. We watched as table after table received their food and even left. At one time I stood up and counted which tables had food. EVERY table that came in after us except one had food. We talked to our server a couple of times about it. At the end we also had her sit down because we were going to leave but talked to her. She offered a discount on our meal. We were ok and we’re going to leave with a smile on our faces despite the long wait. When the manager came out she was beyond rude and had many excuses as to why it was not their fault. The server attempted to honor the discount but the manager was mean to her as well. Instead of leaving with a smile we were furious. We attempted to contact the owner but they are only available one day a week at a specific time. In addition my order was wrong, the drinks were empty the majority of the time, and the discount...
