While staying at the hotel a few days. I heard great things about Home Team BBQ and have it a try.
Since day one I was hooked on the flavor and so this review is from 3 different days trying different options.
I’ll start by saying that from Christy the host, to the servers like Gil and others, they were great and made the experience well enjoyed.
Ate after 6pm most days. Dined in with no wait time. Recommendations provided of daily specials by everyone. Food wait time was normal on all dine-in.
First day I tried the turkey platter with baked beans and Mac & cheese. Everything was fenomenal, so tender. I’m big on Max & cheese which is why I had on all 3 occasions. Portion is just right with a bit of the harden cheese. Stays hot during course of the meal which is great. Beans flavorful with that smoky presence.
Second day I went for the wings…😋😋😋 OMG!!! The flavor is to the bone 🦴 so good. No lack of smoky taste here! It’s definitely a party in the mouth when you first bite into them! Added mac & cheese. Can’t pass that up.
Third day Christy points out having the Cuban sandwich on the specials menu. Being from south Florida , Cuban sandwiches can be found throughout. Trying foods outside of my daily circles provides an opportunity to taste different renditions of popular foods. This Cuban sandwich is no exception.
The sandwich includes all the main elements from Cuban sandwiches but with their own touch. Hint of mustard included which is a must in Cuban sandwich and the pickles were added, cut thicker than the norm and is a great touch. The pork has the smoky taste which is unique to Home Team BBQ and makes the entire sandwich explode with flavor. Size looks small but was very filling. Size just right.
Amazing place to dine and highly recommend!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lastly, the views outside are stunning and make outdoor eating so...
Read moreWhen Home Team BBQ first came to Aspen, I was a little skeptic of whether someone could do good BBQ in Colorado let alone Aspen. When I first walked in the door, I was excited to find out that they're based out of Charleston SC. So I expected that they could know what they are doing with BBQ.
So I did my first check I do at any BBQ place, check to see if they have brewed sweat tea. To my surprise, they did have brewed sweat tea, and it tasted just like it does in the south (but it has gone down hill sense they opened). When going to any BBQ place, I always get pulled pork and hopefully mac and cheese, and they had both. To my surprise there pulled pork platter also comes with one additional side (2 sides with meat platters), so I got there Brunswick stew (it also comes with pickles, onions, and Hawaiian roll).
While I was waiting on my food I started tasting the five different sauces they offer (Carolina Mustard, Red, Sweet Red, Hot Red and Pepper Vinegar), Sweet Red is/was my favorite.
Then my food was brought to my table, and right away I was so impressed with pulled porks red tent (smoke line). Once I bit into it, I knew right there this wasn't your average Colorado BBQ place, it was a BBQ skill that is only learned in either the South or Texas. The Mac and Cheese was homemade along with the Brunswick stew (which both I would recommend because out of the sides these are the best (I've had them all)).
So over all, I would recommend going to Home Team if you are looking for BBQ in CO at a low price (especially in Aspen.) If I had to critique it, I would have to say that the burnt ends are sub-par (would not recommend getting them) and I like cornbread instead of a...
Read moreI’ve been here many times and this was my first disappointing experience. My group started ordering when I got there and I ordered right after (letting the server know I was celiac) (615p). My tacos came out first and immediately, but on flour tortillas (625p). She apologized, saying they ran out of corn, and asked if I wanted something else. I asked for a half salad with pork(~630p). We asked periodically about the salad and it was always “almost ready”. It took 45 min to get the salad and it came on a piece of bread (715p). I laughed at this point and gave it back to the girl (not the server), letting her know I was Celiac and couldn’t eat it with bread. The next salad was out within 5 min. By this point my server was 100% avoidant even when I had tried to ask for a refill on my drink. I grabbed my own togo box cause she never came back. She never came by to say they weren’t going to charge me or anything. Just didn’t give me a bill and avoided my part of the table. New maybe? Kitchen that bad now or did she not enter it properly? Do they not expedite error corrections? Idk but it shouldn’t take an hour to get food. She was trying to give other people in my party their bills before I even had food. I’ve been a server and I get it can be overwhelming but you can’t just avoid guests. At least send a manager to the table if you don’t want to go back. I’m not mad and was extremely nice to her, just disappointed in the lack of communication and it was awkward leaving not really knowing for sure I wasn’t...
