Mudbugs — Restaurant in Atascocita

I’ve been a loyal customer of Mudbugs for over 9 years, but today’s experience was the absolute worst. Had this been my first visit, I can’t say I would return.

The service was terrible—our waitress was nowhere to be found. We had to get up and go to the host stand multiple times just to get refills. Crawfish were inconsistent in flavor, and I even had to send back a wrong order. To make matters worse, I ended up bussing my own table because no one was around. The table next to us was dealing with the exact same issues.

When I brought it up to the host stand, they at least helped with refills and said they would share the feedback. But management never came by to address the issue, and another waitress at the host stand (who wasn’t even ours) just made excuses, saying our server “wasn’t feeling well.” If that’s the case, why wasn’t someone stepping in to ensure customers were being taken care of?

In the past, I’ve had great conversations with Sandra, the owner, about how well she manages the team—keeping staff off their phones and ensuring they’re attentive. That standard was nowhere to be found today.

At the very least, I expected an apology or some acknowledgment from management. Instead, the lack of leadership made it clear that customer experience wasn’t a priority today.

This was my lowest ticket crawfish trip ever, and based on today’s service, I don’t see myself returning this...

I went on 05/19/24 and I got 5lb of crawfish an a cluster of snow crab. I was even going to order a king crab that the girl said was $80. I figured might as well since I was trying it for the first time but I'm glad they ran out. When ever I buy crawfish from the Crawfish Shack my whole car smells like crawfish but not with Mudbugs I was like maybe they package it better. Man when I tell you they were dry. They were spicy I give them that but they where dry to the point that they stuck to the shell. You know when you go to pull the meat out and you only come out with what you are pinching and have to break the whole tail to get the rest out. If you like to to suck the heads you won't be able to. Nope! All I wanted was an order of gumbo. They only offer chicken & sausage. That was fine but the price was ridiculous! For a two cup to go container that was ⅔ rice and overly salted gumbo I paid over $15! I went through the drive through and the young woman taking my order has no problem cheerfully pointing out the TIP option. I was not waited on more given customer service other than my order taken, payment received and being handed a plastic bag of overly priced, overly salted, rice heavy, not so flavorful gumbo and felt pressured to tip! In total I paid $17.37 for a sorely disappointing experience. It's a shame because I had been looking forward to trying then for a looking time. I might not be so frustrated if the gumbo hadn't been so saltedly...
