MuM MuM HIBACHI — Restaurant in Athens

Came in today. Ordered two of their special sushi rolls and two hibachi. One steak and one chicken. The only reason they do not get 1 star is because one of the sushi rolls was good. We took the two special rolls that didn’t have cream cheese. One had two slices with tuna. Two with salmon and 4 with avocado. Inside it had fake crab. It was decent but definitely not authentic. The other roll had so much sauce on top I couldn’t eat. Now to the WORSE part. The hibachi. I’ve eaten hibachi in nice places. And even in all you can eat buffet. This hibachi here was by far the worse hibachi I had in years. Sad. As this is what they claim to be. An hibachi joint. Well. They are not. The hibachi has zero flavor. Absolutely nothing. The noodles are dry. The meat is flavorless. The veggies are basically zucchini and some onions and small pieces of brocolli. No mushrooms. Nothing authentic. And again. Zero flavors. The dish is mostly old dry noodles. I was surprised. It has such great rating I was believing I found a decent place. Service was horrible. We were alone. While we waited (told to wait in car. They will bring it to us) two other cars came. Order. And got their food before us. We waited 31 minutes for the pick up. Service - non existence. At the end. I’d have rate it a one star on the hibachi. And two star on the sushi. I’d...

For such a small place you couldn't be blamed if you dismissed it at first glance, but this place has some of the best Asian cuisine in SE Ohio (and I've tried them all).

The prices appear high at first, but they give you very large portions. You don't walk away hungry.

The staff are great. The guy at the front is very friendly, patient and helpful with questions.

Food is excellent quality. When they say Fillet, they mean it. Tender and almost melts in your mouth. I personally recommend the Shrimp with Fillet fried rice, with their house udon noodles on the side. You'll have enough to take some back home with you. They offer both freshly made hibachi and sushi, rolled on the spot. I don't know if they make their own teriyaki sauce but it is delightful.

The place is small, but you can't really fault them for them for the size of the building. They didn't build it. They make the most of what they've got though, with both indoor and outdoor dinning options as well as takeout. They will bring the food to you after you order.

All in all a wonderful place enjoy a quality meal. I try to visit at least once or twice a month and I have yet to leave...

The food was extremely flavorful! The meat was tender and they cooked my boyfriends steak perfectly. I loved the noodles that came with my hibachi and everything was in a savory sauce. They also have the best crab Rangoon around, the wonton was nice and light and crispy (other restaurant's are chewy and hard to bite through) everything is decently priced for what you get. Me and my boyfriend had shared 5 crab Rangoon and some sushi, after that I couldn't even eat half of my entree, the portions were so large. Definitely will be going back.
