I have been to Sam's twice with my fiance' in the past few weeks. The first time we went, it was "okay"... not the greatest, but edible... except for the home fries which were hard and barely even cooked. I also had the sausage gravy over biscuits, which was decent the first time. Today when we went there, I asked to have the home fries done crispy and they were really good, but when I took a bite of my sausage gravy, it was barely warm. After taking another bite and having that one be cold, my fiance' called the waitress over and told her they were cold. We were not going to ask to replace them or for our money back, just simply wanted them heated more. This waitress (who seemed quite young) became blatantly rude and confrontational, bordering on nasty. Her response was; "That's because they have been sitting a while." (It had only been a matter of maybe five minutes at most) as I was eating some of the home fries first. A few moments after she brought our food, she came over and asked how everything was and we said good... that was BEFORE I realized my gravy was cold. She got a major attitude and said; "Why didn't you say anything 10 minutes ago when I asked how everything was?" She caught us completely off guard, as we have NEVER been treated that way by the staff in ANY restaurant EVER. My fiance' said we just wanted it heated a bit and she said she didn't think they could do that because once food has been "touched" by the customer they cannot put it back on the grill... Gravy? On a grill??? After putting up with her attitude long enough, my boyfriend told her she had a very poor attitude and THEN she offered to heat my food (now that I had maybe two bites left.) She had us BOTH so upset, it ruined our breakfast. We usually tip our waiters/waitresses well, but this little brat got a dollar and did not even deserve that! We will NEVER go back there again! And just for the record, this is the FIRST time I have EVER written a BAD review for any place! If they keep this waitress working there, they will lose what little...
Read moreJune 2017: They have a very simple menu and they do it well. The only place in the Valley that cooks my bacon as crispy as I want it when I request it to be burnt. Decor leaves something to be desired but it's a clean and cozy old mom & pop diner with reliable consistent good food at very affordable prices.
February 2018: So the other day when we went, closer to their closing hours, we had a wonderful young waitress. She took our order very attentively, but when we got our food some parts were wrongly cooked or missing extras like cheese. We found out that the cook was a fill-in and apparently not very happy about it, and the poor waitress took some of our food back to be corrected and he yelled at her! She took it like a champ and made sure we got what we ordered this time. I hope she didn't blame herself because he clearly isn't a very mature back-up if he's going to complain and be lazy on a day that he is called in. I hope she tells the owners...
Read moreI went to eat after working midnight. I walked in and sat at a booth. I waited at least 10 minutes before even being acknowledged. I ordered breakfast and I specified that I wanted my bacon extra crispy and my bagel toasted dark. My bacon was not crispy and I don't think they even toasted my bagel. Why can't I get food that I am paying for the way i order it? Ugggg. But on a positive note, I also ordered scrambled eggs and they...
