If you find yourself driving through Atoka, OKLA please stop in and say hello to Sunny Richards AKA PaPa. Owner of the Buffalo Nickel, an old fashion candy store. We purchased some goodies too. Sunny shared lots of history of this town, and a few of the famous people. His store is located right next door to Reba’s restaurant. He told us about a local young lady who was on The Voice, Jordan Rainer, who actually sang one of Reba’s songs the first season Reba was a judge. No Pressure … Then PaPa told us that Jordan’s mom , Robin, was working the old fashion Soda shop across the street and to go have a look at an original Cocoa Cola sign in said shop. We did. Sunny was so much fun to chat with. Stop by and say hello. 👋🏼

Stopped for lunch next door at Reba’s place and found this gem. What a wonderful chocolate shop filled with deliciousness. The two ladies working were courteous, friendly, and made the whole experience that much better. Quite a lot of vintage candies you will remember from childhood plus a fantastic assortment of chocolate…but wait…there is more! As a Type 2 Diabetic candy can be a huge no no but they have a selection of diabetic friendly sugar free items! I purchased some caramel filled chocolates and some dark chocolate covered almonds. Incredible stuff. Five starts and well worth a visit!

Love this place! Just went and stocked up on salt water taffy. They have so many flavors to choose from. Try the buttered popcorn, it’s my new favorite flavor! The owners were fantastic. They were friendly and very helpful. We also tried the happy camper and dirty Diana dirty sodas. Sooooo yummy. The happy camper is like all the flavors of campfire roasting a marshmallow. There’s parking right out front. The decor is cute, rustic and vintage. Can’t wait to go back and try more flavors of dirty sodas. Everyone go check it out!

After a weekend in Beaver's Bend, my family went to Reba's Place for lunch and tried to take a family photo out front. Lucky for us, Cory showed up to save our failed photo attempt. Not only did he give us a phenomenal memento, but he was incredibly kind. After asking my son how old he was and what his favorite color is, he went to the shop for some corresponding candy. And, after my son told him he could only have sugar-free, he obliged without missing a beat. My son can usually NEVER eat the candy that is given to him. I am amazed at the sugar-free selection. We got the salt water taffy, which is our favorite (and have not been able to find a decent sugar-free version of until now).... IT TASTES SOOO GOOD! We went for Reba, we will be going back for Cory and the Buffalo Nickel...
