Stopping by on a Tuesday afternoon, we were pretty sure lunch would be great after the "Lunch" rush. We were so wrong. The atmosphere is amazing with all the knick knacks, but that is where the experience stops. I ordered chicken strips and my husband had chicken fried steak. Although his portion was amazingly large, the chicken strips were sad. I could have received better tasting and a better portion size at a local fast food eatery, than here. They were DISGUSTING. I could tell that they had either been fried twice or sat under a heat lamp for 24 hours. There was NO depth to the batter and it was hard as a rock with dried out chicken inside. This could have seriously hurt someone. At that point I thank heavens it was a small portion and that I was not blessed with more of that mess. The gravy was obviously from a package, which I had to SOAK the chicken in, in an effort to eat it. The chicken fried steak, although large had no flavor and was smothered in more of the glue like substance they call gravy. Meanwhile, the waitress, who was nice, was carrying on a very inappropriate, UNappetising, DISGUSTING conversation about three tables over, very loudly, about her experience as a nurse and the use of needles in that profession in various situations including childbirth. At this point, we had to leave. Even though they saw us take pictures of our food... you would have thought they may have been a bit more mindful. Nope. We left. IT DID NOT STOP THERE. Less than 3 hours later I was so ill I could not eat anything. Then came stomach cramps, gas, and nausea.....then the husband faced the same. We could only attribute the next 24 hours of stomach hell... to what we ate at this place. The husband contacted them. Their response? There's no dairy in their gravy. What the?????? We are trying to tell you how sick we were and you blow it off and focus on your gravy? Not only that, but then you let us know there is NO milk in your country gravy? Thank you but NO thank you. We will NOT be back. We would NOT wish 24 hours of nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea on anyone. You did not even care. Never again will we grace this place. ONCE was enough for us. And for those wondering.... no the one picture is not a plate of dog poo and fries. That is what we paid 8.99 for and calls itself chicken. Had it not been on a plate I would have sworn it was poop from someone's pet. Take pride in your food. You should be ashamed and...
Read moreGreat place that I never knew was there... was planning a ride for a couple of hours in the AM and asked for some suggestions for a good motorcycle breakfast location. Got a couple of great recommendations, but Bebo's was suggested as well and was perfect for my planned ride that day. My goal was to stay away from Dallas / Ft. Worth and stick to my local country backroads.
Great morning ride to the cafe' and was cheerfully told by the wait staff to feel free to sit anywhere. This place has a great and fun spirit to it with a ton of Elvis, hot rod, and a 50/60's jive. Lots to look at...
Welcomed the A/C as well coming in, and was greeted by the waitress ready with a menu, coffee and water. Ordered a breakfast burrito though the Biscuits and Gravy as well as just good old eggs, bacon and hashbrowns were tempting. Nothing too fancy, but breakfast as breakfast sometimes should be.
One thing I like about some places is having no expectations. I did not expect or want my food to be out fast, nor did I want to feel as though I was being pressed to leave to open a table. It was very comfy for me to sit after about an hour in the saddle on some nice country backroads and enjoy a cup or two of coffee.
No cell reception at least inside, and would have liked perhaps a wireless connection, but sometimes we learn to leave the tech and enjoy what's in front of ya. Food came out and looked great, freshly made with well cooked bacon, and I think a fresh tortilla (it was not perfectly round and was cooked). It hit the spot and was enjoyed, simple and easy but tasty and not too big, and not too small. It seems a popular place as locals and other motorcyclists were coming in as well.
Another cup of joe (local Community Coffee served fresh and good) and it was on my way, no rush, no fuss and I'll be back... and I'm bring my...
Read moreI came here for lunch with family. I ordered the chicken tender meal that is supposed to be served with 2 sides of my choice according to the menu. The waitress questioned me when I ordered 2 sides and I referred her to the menu where she was reminded it does come with 2. I ordered okra and beans for my sides. I never received the beans. No big deal, I just told my waitress and asked her to make sure I wasn't charged a meal with 2 sides when I only received 1. I also could not eat my chicken straps. The breading did not taste right. Myself, and 3 of my family members all tasted them and agreed there was something off about them, as if the batter was old or something. I told the waitress and she told the manager. The manager (can't remember her name) came out, she was a young brunette. She had a horrible attitude and immediately told me there was nothing wrong with my chicken strips and no one else complained about them but me. Okay fine. Well she proceeded to have an attitude when I mentioned not receiving my beans and she told me that was "handled". I looked at her blankly because I still had no resolution on my end for what would be done about that. She then proceeded to have an attitude and after my dad said something to her about how rude and defensive she was being in front of my whole family, she then proceeded to say she would take off the beans from my order and then also offer me a free dessert. Fair enough. I will give 2 stars for that bc at least something was done. However more than anything that type of attitude and unprofessionalism from someone who claims to be the manager is very shocking and still resonates with me almost a whole week later. I waited to write this review to give myself time to reflect and calm down about the situation. Won't be returning to this establishment ever again, and neither will any...
