Revised review. First, we arrived much earlier than the previous visit. We arrived at approximately 6:30pm on Thursday February 22nd. The restaurant is at best at half capacity. There was a large party ahead of us. We all waited at least 20 minutes before being acknowledged at the empty hostess stand. At best there are two waitress and one waiter at various levels of awareness – “Speedy” to “Calm & Friendly” (later revealed to be the manager). Our waitress, “Speedy” dumped us at our table with menus without waters and without drink inquiries. Shortly, thereafter, stale chips and salsa were delivered. The chips were warm but did not seem to be fresh. It appears the chips were possibly reheated before serving. Approximately, 11 minutes later, “Speedy” returned to ask us about drinks. We ordered an appetizer - Queso Fundido and an entrée of Fish Tacos. We asked for double rice – no beans. Another 8 minutes later our waters and Margarita arrived. The Queso Fundido had grease pooling on top and continued to leak grease the longer the plate was on the table. The entrée arrived with beans and rice. “Speedy” didn't verify the order before serving us. The fish tacos were good. The rice was well cooked but flavorless and under seasoned. The Margarita was very good. In summary, Fish Tacos and Margarita were acceptable. Service was severely under-performing. Furthermore, the bill was printed at 7:39pm and presented to us by “Speedy”. I had to go to the bar to get the bill paid since “Speedy” passed us three times without collecting the bill and my credit card. After a minute Speedy delivered a transaction bill, the total went from $36.34 to $28.89. I checked the items ordered and realized “Speedy” had charged my card to another table. I returned the incorrect slip to “Speedy” explaining she charged the wrong bill. She seemed confused, I showed her the correct bill and off she went with both. Several minutes more, “Speedy” and the other waitress were trying to figure out how to do a refund and charge the correct amount. The Manager came over, “Speedy” explained the issue to the manager in Spanish. After checking my account, the incorrect charge was displayed but not the refund. The Manager then approved the incorrect lower amount to be acceptable. From the time we entered the restaurant to the time we left, it was 90 minutes of our time we will not get back due to very bad customer service and inattentiveness. It was some of the worse service my wife and I have experienced in a long time. Before the billing fiasco, I was going to recommend arriving closer to the close of business since we had far better service the last time we visited. But after this visit, my wife and I are in solid agreement we will likely never return for a third visit.

Loved eating here, then they introduced me to the molcajete. Now I can't get enough. The owner is incredibly friendly and will most likely sit down and chat with you. The staff is excellent. Cannot recommend strongly enough. Even if you're in Topeka, it's worth the drive down to Auburn. Best margaritas in Shawnee County.

The food was great, as was the service! The owner even came by a couple of times to see that everyone was having a good time. I think this restaurant is going to be very popular for a very long time!!!! For those ordering the margaritas- you're in for a treat about as big as your head!!!! (Woooo!!!)

We love the one in Osage City, but the one in Auburn, today, was very busy, so service was not very good. But, there was one waitress who was rather rude and short with us and did not bring the things we asked for. There was a problem with our check, but there was no opportunity to resolve the issue due to the staff being so busy. The one in Osage City accepts checks, so we assumed this one would also. The waitress rudely announced they do not accept checks and walked off, not allowing us opportunity to pay our bill with our card. There was a lot of waiting for things to be done. Perhaps they were understaffed today, but that's no excuse...

We have had three strikes with this spot and won’t be going back. First - we left a cash tip and on the card receipt wrote 0 tip and put the total, and then the charge we saw on our statement was $10 higher. We had the receipt and called them, and went by, but never got the credit back. So they added in an extra tip. Second visit- I asked for a margarita and I was brought a giant one that cost $19, without being asked what size or anything. I couldn’t even finish it. Third and last- takeaway order, and they added a 10% gratuity on the bill, without asking. The food is yummy but we...
