Hunan House — Restaurant in Auburn

The only reason I’m giving one star is because I have to to leave a review. After our experience with this place last night, I will never order from them again. I placed a $50 online order for my husband and myself at 5:00. It said wait time was 45 min to an hour so we expected it to arrive by 6:00. At 6:30 when it still hadn’t been delivered I decided to call and was told they were very busy and asked if I would like to come pick it up. I declined, i.e. the reason we ordered delivery and paid the fee for same. Then I was told I should have called instead of ordering online when they’re busy. First of all, how would I know that? Second of all, why have online ordering at all? I asked how much longer it would be and was handed off to another employee, American speaking. I asked how much longer it would be and she said I have no idea...offering nothing more than that. When I told her again we’d been waiting an hour and a half, she hung up on me. Way to deliver...both food and customer service! It finally arrived...a total of 2 hours after ordering and it was lukewarm and HARDLY worth the wait. They won’t have to worry about COVID-19 destroying their business, they’re doing just fine on their own!! We order from here at least once every two weeks. Maybe even more. Normally NEVER have a issue. And food is ALWAYS hot and fresh. But tonight Friday the 10th I placed a large order for the wife and kids and I at 5:25pm and was told 45 to 60 min. It is now 7:35pm and we still do not have any food. I called one hour into the wait and was told only two delivery’s and it will be here hot and fresh. Then another hour goes by I call again and get told rudely they are busy it be another 30 min or so I try to explain my wait and my understanding but this is not cool. She kept saying I can cancel or wait then she hung up on me so I called back and was given say options. Like I’m gonna cancel over two hours into it. Like come on. The lady is definitely America. I will not take this as my only option I will make a formal complaint too. I spend good money and tip well to the driver. This is unacceptable. I’ve never had a issue here like this before. Recently, I've been dining alone. I haven't been to Hunan House in years. I've recently moved back into the area. When I saw this restaurant I was excited to go back. It appears to me this does ALOT of take out orders. The waiter I had was very ill experienced. No worries, everyone needs to start somewhere. I ordered a Pu Pu for 2, order of rice. The food came very quickly hot and very tasty. Barely a few minutes went by and the hostess came up and asked me if I needed a box. I was puzzled because I Barely started. Now I feel rushed almost unwelcome. Which I feel ruined my experience. No one checked on me. All and all I feel it was a poor experience all around.
