Thunder Road Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Augusta

WARNING FOR ALL BANDS!!!! Food and bar staff was the only thing great about this place. If you're coming for live music, don't bother. Our band was told to arrive at 5. Which we did! We was hired to play 9-1. We arrived, set up equipment and ordered food that was brought out prompt and delicious. By 7 pm nobody was available to do a sound check for an establishment that runs their own sound. By 9 pm (show time) nobody still was available to control sound for the band they hired. There was 6 people in the entire bar that we was still willing to play for. We were told we could leave since nobody was there and the weather was bad . Next, we were being sent out the door with a mere $350. This all, after 5 band members spent about $350 to pay for food, drinks, and pool tables. Ultimately, theowner DID uphold his commitment, but not without an argument. As the band packed up equipment 2 patrons walked out with us. Such a disappointment after so many miles to be wasted driving to...

I arrived around 6:30 ish with my 84 year old friend to have dinner and a couple beers. One of my friends recently came here with her friends and said it was very good. I myself had not been in the establishment since 2016 when it was Gooley's or whatever it was called. The fella inside the door was collecting a $10.00 cover charge for the band. We weren't there for the band. We were there to spend about $60.00 on dinner and brews. The decision to not allow us to be paying customers was a loss for both parties. It is what you'd call a poor "management decision". My 84 year old friend is not into rock n roll or country and I'm guessing that's what they were going to play. They weren't even playing yet. So again,...a crappy decision for the establishment to dismiss revenue when it's there to be made. Common sense and logic should have played a roll here. We may have been frequent patrons. End of story. How much did you spend here? ZERO DOLLARS...

Horrible place please I beg of you for the love god don’t come here. Bartenders horrible. Owners son watched to many bouncer movies. Save your money and go somewhere else!!

To the response of the owner after I wrote my review... I would love to see it... The Audio kills me.. A band was playing and yet you could hear what I was saying???? Wow, that is some high quality audio you have there.. FyI for anybody that comes there they can listen in on your conversation.. Please be careful... Now please remember I texted you directly about that situation.. Its funny my wife and me have been banned bc we wrote a review.. you didn't ban me when I texted you.. If this is how you treat customers. Customers...
