Food is delicious. Some of the dishes we have tried: Combo egg foo young, General Tso's chicken, shrimp fried rice, appetizer combo platter, and wonton noodle soup. The menu is large and includes a beef, chicken, and seafood option for many of the entrees. The prices were very fair and their portions are large enough to take home leftovers. We have also ordered as a take out order and the portions to go were still very sizeable. Our waiter was very polite and friendly. The service was fast and the food was served hot.
The outside of the restaurant is not very attractive but once you are inside the view gets much better. There is adequate seating to accommodate busy days and large groups. The decor is nicer than most Chinese food restaurants we have frequented. Note: There is a video game gambling section in the restaurant. While it is not completely visible from the dining area, you can hear the audio of a game if someone is playing (hence the four stars). Otherwise, if you are into video poker as well as fresh flavorful Chinese food, this place is a double win for you!😀
I have seen families with small children dining here as well as couples and an old lady such as myself. So all ages enjoy the food here. Also, the egg rolls have that crunchy, chewy, flakiness and flavorful filling that everyone looks...
Read moreI was a loyal customer of this restaurant while it was called Chan's Gourmet. In my opinion it was one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area, so I was very disappointed to learn that they went out of business. I decided to try Lucky Panda and I was very happy with them overall. The place is completely remodeled which is good since Chan's Gourmet really needed an upgrade to the seating area. The food was great - filled with fresh vegetables and not heavily deep fried as you would expect from the typical Chinese restaurant. I did not feel gross after eating. I had the hot & sour soup to start (loaded with interesting ingredients) and for entree I had the salt & pepper shrimp and Singapore noodles.
The only complaints I have are two-fold: 1) when I went into the place there was a strong cleaning agent scent in the air. I guess it is good that it is clean, but the smell was a bit over powering. This was in the middle of the day so perhaps they were cleaning earlier and by normal rush hour the smell will subside. Will go again and see if this continues. Also 2): they need to change their music. Replace the bad current pop music with something more relaxing and appropriate for the cuisine (perhaps...
Read moreIt's more like a 4.5 star. I've been here once for carryout, and tonight I came in for some scrumptious beef chop suey on National Chop Suey Day. They must have broken English, as my server didn't understand what I meant when I said "Happy National Chop Suey Day.
Their dinner specials are a great value, at $8.95. Egg drop soup, egg roll, chicken fried rice and your entree of choice. I took half of my rice and entree home, big serving. If you get in before 3pm, it's $6.95, suspect it's a little smaller serving.
Not sure why they don't throw any ice in the pitcher of water when they give you a refill. I'm a cold water kinda guy, room temperature doesn't do it for me.
Egg roll was slightly over fried. It took forever to cool off enough to eat. I love that they have squeeze bottles of hot mustard and sweet n sour sauce. I don't use sweet n sour sauce though.
My beef chop suey had wonderful crisp veggies and tender and tasty beef. The chicken in the fried rice was off, too dried out.
I was shocked I was the only one in the dining room at 5:30pm, but they were doing a brisk carryout business. I felt bad for my server, who was great, so I tipped him 30%. I forgot they have a gaming section too, not that I play....
