Yesterday's experience at Subbamma's Kitchen was nothing short of magical! I arrived late in the evening, just as they were preparing to close, but what followed was a demonstration of hospitality that you rarely find these days.
Despite the late hour, the warmth with which they welcomed me made me feel like I was walking into someone's home rather than a restaurant. When I apologized for coming in so close to closing time, they brushed it off with genuine smiles, insisting it was no problem at all.
I ordered their special Karam Dosa and was amazed to watch them prepare everything fresh - from grinding the batter to making the spicy chutney from scratch. The authenticity of flavors transported me straight to South India! The dosa was crispy on the outside, perfectly seasoned, and served with three varieties of chutney that were absolutely heavenly (especially the chutney - wow!).
What truly touched me was when they noticed I was enjoying the chutneys so much - they packed extra portions for me to take home, completely complimentary! And even though they could have rushed my order given the time, they took care to ensure every element was perfect.
The staff here truly treats you like family. They even shared recommendations for my next visit, passionately describing their home-style specialties and weekend menu items. You can tell they take immense pride in maintaining the authenticity of their South Indian cuisine.
From the carefully prepared food to the genuine hospitality, everything about Subbamma's Kitchen exceeds expectations. This isn't just a restaurant - it's a place where authentic South Indian culinary traditions are kept alive with love and care.
Pro tip: Try their special meals and pulav - I saw several regulars picking up their orders, and from their excitement, I know what I'm ordering next time!

Read moreWe went for breakfast, they said they are busy but will bring the food in 10 - 15 mins which is acceptable. But food wasn’t at all good, poori aren’t made in the kitchen they just fried tortillas and served… Mysore bonda have more stuff inside and oily.. we order ghee karam dosa and kadapa karam dosa both are so much oily and every thin like a transparent paper.. each dish costed 10$ not at all worth… for kadapa karam dosa they served the potato stuff directly taken from the fridge we can feel coolness… the dosa which is attached to the plate not able to lift it.. ghee is not all used in dosa…it was glued to the plate… after 20 mins we suffered with gastric problem which we never… we eat a lot of spicy stuff but never felt that feeling…
Update : No one asked how was the food… don’t tell lies when you served refrigerated food… you guys are so busy we don’t like to create a drama there… that’s the mistake what we did we should have shown the kadapa karam dosa to you when you served.. accept the truth that you guys have served refrigerated food… we are not wrong at all…
You are taking 10$ for home style dosa not restaurant style dosa… dosa was very small when compared to the others… that’s the reason you are giving two dosas instead of one as it looks as homemade dosa…
You are saying others liked your food… at the time when we reached no Indians was there as your customers… they don’t no the taste and looks… we thought as a South Indians it was so good to hear a South Indian restaurant in small scale near us… we visited with lot of hopes…

If food tells stories, then Indian cuisine is an epic — vibrant, layered, and soul-satisfying. From the moment the aroma of spices hits the air, you know you're in for something special. I recently indulged in a spread that showcased the diversity of India's culinary map, and it was unforgettable.
Highlights:
Chicken 555: Creamy, smoky, and rich without being heavy. The tender chicken was pure comfort.
Paneer Tikka: Charred just right with a hint of lemon and smokey spice — a vegetarian delight that could rival any meat dish.
Butter Garlic Shrimp: This dish is a firework of spices. The shrimp were juicy and perfectly cooked — not rubbery, not mushy. Heat from green chilies kicked in after the first bite, but it was balanced by a touch of tang from tamarind or lemon. Served with steamed rice or flaky paratha, it's the kind of comfort food that lingers in your memory.
Masala Dosa: Crisp yet soft with a perfectly spiced potato filling, served with tangy sambar and coconut chutney — South Indian excellence on a plate.
Gulab Jamun: The dessert was warm, syrup-soaked perfection — a bite of nostalgia and indulgence.
What sets Indian cuisine apart is its ability to balance complexity and comfort. It’s spicy but not just for heat — it’s about depth. Every dish feels like it has a story, passed down through generations.
Rating: 9.5/10
Verdict: Whether you’re new to Indian food or a seasoned fan, a well-curated Indian meal is not just food — it’s an experience. Must visit restaurant in and around...
