Went to visit family for the holidays and heard about this cute little hole in the wall cafe we decided to give it a try ! Definitely recommend you check it out yourselves! Kept going back for more food while staying there and let me tell you, you won’t find any other authentic Mexican food in Missouri! Coming from a place where we grew up with good Mexican food and living somewhere where you can barely find it we were so happy to FINALLY find food that actually tasted AMAZING! Will def be going back when visiting to try other menu options! Aside the deliciousness of their food the staff (family owned cafe btw) was very friendly and welcoming we loved everything about it from the ambiance to the cute Mexican inspired decor and music and many menu options to chose from without it overwhelming you! Whether you get a breakfast burrito or a lunch/ dinner meal I promise you won’t be disappointed! And they even have homemade desserts!! If I could give it more stars I would!!! First thing the dining area was very clean and uncluttered, a nice touch of décor without going overboard like so many restaurants that fall into this “over the top” trap. The service was friendly and attentive, loved the simplicity of the menu, again, unlike so many restaurants that pack way too much information into a small area and never really make the connection of the item name and description, leaving the customer to decode. The food was great, fresh, well prepared, pleasant presentation and seasoned just right and the best part of all is that it is “Clean Food”, no “mystery meat” ingredients. This small restaurant has some of the best authentic Mexican food in Ava. Everything is made with fresh ingredients and the owners are committed to serving healthy food. You must try the Strawberry -lemonade no powders are used only fresh lemon and strawberries plus cane sugar 😋 The Tamales are the best I have had anywhere in Missouri and they have an all organic version for a little extra.
