Cute atmosphere, but wasn't overly impressed. We had a reservation and they did not have our table set up. Once we were brought to our table, we did not see a server for about 25 minutes. Luckily we were all chatting. I tried waving down a few servers a few times, but no one even looked our way. I finally caught the hostess and waved her over. She looked like she wasn't going to come over for a sec but then reluctantly came over. I asked if we had a server. She said she would try to get us one as soon as she could. Finally we got a server, who was actually really good. We were now content. Then the food came. The people who ordered steaks did not get their steaks cooked the way they had ordered and we had to send them back as they were still mooing. Yes, I know many people like rare, but our table like theirs more medium. We were also excited to try the walleye as it is supposed to be their specialty. It came and the fillets were extremely small, and the breading was so greasy it was falling off the fish. They were also quite pricey for the food we got. The salads were really good! Drinks were good. We might try it again as this was our first time and it was their first weekend open...
Read moreIt was after 7 pm and With all the cars in the parking lot, we were quite surprised that there would not be a wait to be seated. The hostess and our waiter were wonderful. Drinks ordered and served quickly, as well as our meals. Food however, was disappointing. They were out of Baked potatoes, so decided on Baked sweet potato. Foil was charred around it and just thrown on the plate so the char was mixed in with everything on the plate. Not tasty! Also tried the fish(walleye)tacos. If that was walleye, they were the smallest walleyes we have ever seen because you get 2 small cold tortillas with a “small” breaded piece of something in each one. The salsa in the tortilla was very good as well as the guacamole on the side but overall would not consider this a taco. Especially at such a big city price. There was no lettuce or cheese and other fixings. I have never had a fish taco with one little chunk of tasteless fish and a spoonful of salsa. I would recommend cutting up your “walleye” and cooking it in a taco seasoning and serving it with some fixings. Also, need some work on the acoustics in the place-so unpleasantly loud, you have shout to be heard. Not planning on another meal there...
Read moreMy skeptical nature made me wary of this place. Luckily the fare is better then your typical American restaurant. We sat outside because part of our party has a dog. Beautiful view of the lake. The side salad was lovely. House made orange vinegarette is very nice and refreshing. I love that they use mixed salad greens and fresh tomatoes and cucumbers. Walleye sandwich or any Walleye meal is a must. The fish melts in your mouth. The sweet potato tots are soft inside and crispy on the outside. The bathrooms are weird as heck and could use an update. Our server was very kind but you could tell something weird was going on. Not sure of what company issues are happening but having your heated discussions in front if the main door probably isn't the smartest idea. Hope you are able to...
