Willard's Saloon & Eatery — Restaurant in Backus

The signs outside claim "The Friendly Place" and "Best Burgers Around". Neither statement is true. We stopped in on a Sunday around 2pm for a late lunch. It was busy, but there were a few open tables and a couple of open spots at the bar. As the bartender slammed down our beers, I said we'd like to order food. She barked "NO". My husband and I both laughed because we thought she was joking. Unfortunately, she wasn't. She yelled that six food orders were ahead of us, so we couldn't order food. What kind of eating establishment can't handle more than six food...

They were just out of hamburger buns, but I was able to get a pocket tenderloin sandwich. They were low on tatertots also, so I only got maybe 10-12 of those.

The food itself was cooked in oil that wasn't hot enough, and the tots were extremely greasy, as was the tenderloin.

There's not much else to eat around there, so we'll plan out our side by side trip much better next time.

The beer was cold and the service was good, but I definitely won't order food...

All there "regulars" Rude cronies that like to ILLEGALLY hold onto pull tab winners and think it's funny. And the bartender protects them and lies to your face, and let's other people waste there money chasing a winner. Won't be back to support a place that allowes that to happen!!! Pretty sad because we liked this place.. i hope the owner reads this. I know as a business owner that bartender would be fired...
