Iron Pig Smokehouse — Restaurant in Bagley Township

Just went there yesterday with my family for some dinner. Normally the service and food here is great, but today was different. They were short staffed, and super busy due to the holiday this weekend. While I do understand that this situation can have an effect on service and quality, I was not expecting our dinner to have this end result.

Our drinks took quite some time to arrive, and the appetizer, longer than expected considering quite a lot of people had left at this point. Our drinks, we had to wait about 20 minutes after they were empty to get a refill, and the food, took somewhere between 45 minutes and an hour to actually arrive at our table. Once it did arrive, some of the food was just simply cold, some of it was overcooked, and the remaining food was mostly okay. Unfortunately, when the food arrived, 3 of the 5 of us did order food that required silverware, and we had to ask 3 separate people if we could get silverware, and it still took somewhere between 5-15 minutes for us to be given silverware to eat our food.

The service yesterday was honestly not great, and while I do understand that it can get busy during the holidays, and being short staffed can also have an effect on the service, it was unfortunately still subpar. I had spoken to our waitress and another about the poor service and quality, and we were offered free dessert.

While the gesture was appreciated and we did take some dessert home with us, the overall service and quality was still subpar compared to my normal experience here. I almost never leave reviews like this for a business I respect and enjoy, I figured someone should know about this...

I can't say much for my experience as I sat down with my best girl friend and coworker to have a drink, maybe a bite to eat for the 3 of us i was unaware my friend was being told we couldn't be served due to the bartender not liking my friend?? Family issues of that bartender with my friend have nothing to do with me and our coworker. The Iron Pig & my friend or us have no been so why let her do that to us is beyond me that the other lady didn't inquire what was going on. All i knew is my friend wasn't happy so I said let's leave thinking we made that decision to go until this morning talking with my friend. I had never been there before and seen the issues on Facebook about Jan 6th issues and stayed neutral never having been there. Last night was going to be my thoughts on of i like the place. We went in this past Friday my fiance got the sampler platter the brisket was dry the chicken was dry the ribs weren’t as dry but not juicy either the beans were just bushes baked beans nothing homemade the slaw was okay. I ordered the bbq pizza which was actually good the pork wasn’t as dry as the meat on her plate our server was Abby who did a great job the bar tender was great but the other server had a bad attitude an rolled her eyes at every table she waited on as she walked away after taking their orders the food was under par for the price an I will not return due to the poor attitude of the other server if you don’t have a good attitude you should probably just wash dishes so your place of business doesn’t get bad reviews if the rude server leaves we may give the place another shot in hopes of juicy bbq also not dried out brisket,chicken and ribs that probably is bought from Gordon foods come...
