Eagle Cap Grill — Restaurant in Baker City

The place doesn’t look like much from the street, but you’ll be pleasantly surprised when you dine here. I walked in fatigued from hours of riding in the pickup and with was greeted quickly by the cheerful server Angie who asked me if I was OK. When I said I could use a fun drink, she recommended the refreshing Huckleberry Lemonade and she had it at my table just after I sat down. It was a pleasant surprise to have a server who loves what they do, and loves where they work. And their food was even better than a lot of high-end restaurants in the Seattle area that cost much more. I had the Bourbon Ribs and he had the Tequila Like Chicken - the ribs fell off the bone and were coated with an ample amount of a slightly sweet bourbon sauce over a rub that had a hint of heat to it, and they were some of the best ribs I’ve had in a very long time. This place was so awesome. Anne was our server and was welcoming, and understanding of my crazy kiddos. She definitely convinced us this was a good spot to stop at when driving through.

The food was delicious! We had a good variety since we were in a big group. I had ribs and they were very good, with a rich sauce made in house that has a sweetness to it. The mashed potatoes tasted homemade, in the best way! They The pasta side was super tasty too. The Cesar salad side was a good size and came with my meal. It is hard to choose a favorite side. My kids had strips and fries and the fries also taste like they are chopped up in house. Very good and I found myself picking at their chicken too. The burgers are so good. Definitely try one! We have been in and had great service from three of the waitresses. Tonight we again ran into the one waitresses that doesn't seem to be onboard. Last time arrived before close, she goes to seat us. "Oh I'm sorry we are closed!" Really? Signs on, checked hours online and everything says you are open! Tonight we arrive; we are a bother, ask if we can combine a table as we ran into family. Sure (eye roll) we wait about fifteen minutes for a menu, no would you like a drink upon order. Told my father they didn't have halibut fish and smchips, whom ordered before we arrived. I not knowing order halibut fish and chips. My father was disappointed and angry. She needs to communicate or listen. I understand that people are busy, but covid can't be an excuse for poor customer service to your in restaurant customers, when all this establishments other waitresses are fantastic!
