Brunch N Burger — Restaurant in Bakersfield

I have always raved about Brunch & Burger to all my friends but had not visited in some time. The atmosphere is always friendly and welcoming, however, a change to their burgers is not something I am happy with. They switched their patties from normal to smash burger style which I assume is for cost-cutting. My burger was not juicy and full as I’ve had in my previous experiences. The fries tasted a bit old and smaller portion than before. The combo drink is now limited to their agua frescas vs. before you could get a fountain drink from the Sully’s convenience store. I know they are expanding their locations (as seen on recent news) and assuming that’s why they are putting cost cutting measures in, but for an $11 burger and $17 combo, I truly expect more. Usually our service has been good here, up until today a situation left me a little upset. Our order with numerous boxes was set on the counter and my daughter reached for one of the bags. It was definitely overstuffed and one of the cheeseburger kids meal boxes flew out and fries fell onto the floor along with the box. Luckily the cheeseburger didn’t fall out. The cashier didn’t seem to really care. When I asked if we can have a new order made the cashier said she would have to ask. They ended up just adding fries and left the same burger. My daughter even cleaned up the mess on floor. Seemed like a bother to even get fries added. We aren’t the confrontational types so we just took the box and left. Not planning on coming back...
