Foothill family Donuts — Restaurant in Bakersfield

Being an east Bakersfield native it stands to reason I'd wander into this place sooner or later. I thought the actual " hot plant ", or bakery was somewhere up Morning and out Niles and that the bake was trucked to the store each morning. Not so. This was true at one time but not any longer. The store has it's own donut production area and the bake is done on premises daily. These donuts are fresh, ample, and flavorful. I'll give these donuts the Pepsi challenge against anything in the same class here in town. I'm going " Best In Town " for these until proven otherwise. I'm a baker and the pandemic has taken a toll on my finances and resources. I need a job and I've been quietly looking around. Real bakers don't like to do donuts. It's messy, dirty, hard work at a fast pace. You burn your fingertips, you absorb grease and sugar, cleaning deep fryers and greasy floors is a pain. But I'd work at their bakery or the store. It looks like a class operation. I might ask if they need a relief baker or a bread and biscuit maker. All they need is my artisan bread, buns, and rolls, some quality bisquits, and they're pushing some other...

Visiting the Foothill Family was an absolute delight! The moment I stepped in, I was greeted by an incredibly inviting aroma that instantly made me feel at home. The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the donut shop, where the staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Their warm smiles and genuine enthusiasm made the experience even more enjoyable by Taylor and Monique. I really enjoyed talking with both them.

Store is always stocked decently. Staff is friendly and helpful. Donuts are always fresh and delicious no matter what time you go, morning or evening. Only reason for not giving a 5 star review is that sometimes there will only be one person working the register and when you have 3 people in line in front of you who all want a dozen donuts, it can be a little wait.
