Such a gem find on our roadtrip. The husband & I had driven over 4 hours from the Bay Area and were craving something home cooked style. Google showed us this place and the pictures looked good so we stopped by to try a new Dhaba. We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful decor on the walls and with the general charm in the dine in area. We ordered chicken curry and Dal Makhni with some rotis. The food not just arrived quickly with delicious aroma but also had condiments like papad and salad on the side. One taste of either and we knew we had hit the food lottery. It was satisfying and we know we will come here again when we travel this side. A huge shout out to Mankeet, who was the most gracious server. We were served some yummy Kheer. She came with some fresh rotis just in case we were hungry for more, without having to wait. Highly recommend! The food and the people that work here...
Read moreFirst of all , I love the fact that it’s open 24 hours . You know how rare it is to find good food spots open after 10pm . I usually try and eat at different Dhabas at Bakersfield whenever I travel between LA and SFO . This one is a hidden gem. The food is delicious, has a homely authentic Punjabi food taste which you find back in dhabas in India . Also , Its in a truck parking lot which reminds me of Dhabas back home . We ordered paneer , mix , aloo parathas , paneer Bhurji , mattar paneer, bread pakora , chicken and veg biriyani , the chilli chicken al were amazing . They also gave us complimentary tea and Kheer . I visited twice and will definitely return again . The young server guy was very courteous and friendly . Wait time is a little high if you go there and order but if you order ahead by phone then you get the...
Read moreLovely little stop before entering or exiting (depending where you coming from) Bakersfield. Don’t let the parked trucks fool you away from this homely food place. The service is polite, and generous (they offered us free delish kheer like most of the previous reviews mention). The food is home like with no extra oil or butter, and totally delicious. We had mix veg sabzi, yellow dal and aloo paratha. The aloo paratha was flaky and soft and just the right amount of aloo to dough mix. The mix veg was tasty and so was the dal. The tawa rotis were hot & piping — and very home like. The owner mentioned that they don’t have a menu as such and prepare fresh food twice a day for the truckers that pass through.
Hey even the chai is good and infused with saunf! Yum!
Definitely stop here for some quick, polite and delicious...
